As an example of a traditional style Torah mantle with similar embroidery.

I heard a weird electric zing sound as it zipped across the sky. It wasn't loud, ~ normal conversational speaking volume, but I definitely heard it. I'm so annoyed at myself that I wasn't taking video. Does anyone know what this was? Was it ball lightning? Another phenomenon? #weathersky #weather

Yesterday ~5:31 PM PST 8/25/25, I was looking out a south-facing bathroom window at a thunderstorm. I saw an incandescent yellow-white round dot zoom from east to west from near one end of the anvil cloud to the other. It was very fast, ~1/10 sec, appeared to follow a straight path about 25° of arc.

Texts with one of my partners, right after the event.

Me: Holy fuck I just saw what might have been ball lightning! 5:32 PM

Partner: The gods are painting...

Partner: Hell yes that's so cool and dangerous
Are you all inside?

Me: It was an incandescently bright round point that zoomed from east to west incredibly fast, with a weird electric zing sound. I'm fucking amazed

Partner: Sounds like ball lightning! Natural plasma!

Me: it was up high, maybe a couple thousand feet? How did I head thr zing? It was not loud, but definitely there

Yup! It's been a while, because I've been focusing on practical knits I feel comfortable wearing, but I do love me some lace knitting.

While this spider does look like one at first, I don't think it's a brown recluse. The abdomen doesn't look right, there's no violin marking (not conclusive) and it's not within any recluse's native range. The surest marker is the unique eye arrangement. Recluses have six eyes in pairs in a U shape.
