anthonyp.bsky.social @anthonyp.bsky.social · 15/10/2026As a fan of scientific romances, I just love that first issue of volume two. It has like three or four alternate versions of Mars smushed together. John Carter, with Gulliver Jones fighting H.G. Wells' mollusks. And the Sorns from C.L. Lewis' Space Trilogy. Vol. IV is great too. 010 0
anthonyp.bsky.social @anthonyp.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Comic friends! Anyone read Christopher Knowles' Our Gods Wear Spandex: The Secret History of Comic Book Heroes? Is it worth a read or nah? Seems like it has some thematic similarities with Grant Morrison's Supergods. Is that accurate? Any opinions would be appreciated. 120 0

anthonyp.bsky.social @anthonyp.bsky.social · 26/09/2026My weekend comic book re-read. Many of the autobiographical tidbits found in Supergods started out here in Flex Mentallo. Flex is a twisty, encapsulation of the ages of comicdom, by way of a good natured (unironic) Superman type. 140 0

anthonyp.bsky.social @anthonyp.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Anderson's work is nice. Not on par with Ordway, imho (heresy, I know). Another artist that dabbled in that Golden Age style (in the 1980's & 1990's) was Mike Parobek. Clean, animation style linework. Great draftsman...sorely missed. 110 0
