Camden does not seem to be getting cleaner. Basic repair is still an issue.
Housing estate in Camden. A big green bin is upside down after one of the wheels corroded off. The trellis around the bins had fallen down. Repairs are not taking place

It's bribery and corruption refresher course today, not that is topical or anything her in the YK
What is bribery and corruption

Bribery means promising, offering, giving or accepting of any financial or other advantage to induce or reward improper behaviour. An advantage is not just a payment of cash; it can include ...

I mean, not entirely wrong, and I'll take it as an endorsement on the whole. But I'm not agreed on the "Hates People Who..." part. It misdirects away from the crappy idea itself. It's preferable to hate the crappy idea, and not the person.

Autumn in London. Foliage, traffic, grey skies.
Urban garden scene. A small tree shedding leaves. The leaves are all vivid shades of yellow, orange, red. Behind it, a fence. behind that, a busy road. A red double decker bus underway. Blocks of flats.

London still life. No ball games, just epiphytes.
The weather-beaten exterior overhang and vertical wall of a housing estate. Brick and concrete. The sign says "London Borough of Camden NO BALL GAMES". Two epiphytic ferns are flourishing in the cracks.

Today I am sharpening my tools. I do this regularly. This isn't LinkedIn career inspo. It's not a metaphor for learning about some digital tech. It's the opposite in many ways. These are literally my kitchen tools, and I am literally making them a bit sharper. No more, no less.

10 days later "Selected fashion and gifting". This very slow rollout likely is not constrained by fear of a customer stampede. But by backend availability? The linens that we need are still not there.
Marks and Spencer's website. Banner is changed from "Selected fashion ranges now available" to "Selected fashion and gifting now available".

#ContinuousDelivery From mastodon, where they have polls:
A mastodon poll:
A question for #ContinuousDelivery experts.

If someone says that they practice #CD and also that they have a rule to never deploy on Fridays, what do you think?

Great, this is 100% working Continuous Delivery: 16%

OK, this is a watered down partial CD: 28%

Nah, this is not CD! That is incompatible. 56%

Update: #marksandspencers online store is back (ish) 1) On the minus side for us, no, the linens that we need are not there. 2) On the plus side for them, not coming back with a "big bang, doors open, crowds rush in, store crashes back down" is perhaps the most sensible decision.

Here's an older meme that I made in 2022 or so. In reality, it's worse than that: even of the intersection, it takes effort for the computer to understand the code language (compilers etc), and effort for the humans the learn the code language.
A Venn diagram.
The left circle is "Code that computers can run"
The right circle is "Code that humans can understand"
The intersection is "Useful programming languages"
