An odd patch of forest floor. I normally hate #allthingsautumn, but this is one of those moments where charcoal black and wilted brown form an endearing pattern. #forestwalks
A top-down view of the damp forest floor covered in dark charcoal bark mulch, wet soil, and scattered twigs. Pale, wilted oak leaves and fallen acorns create a high-contrast, natural mosaic pattern across the dark ground.

Low autumn light. Cool, bright rays blinding the eyes. #fungi #forestwalks
Blinding autumn sun hitting a pale mushroom cap, reindeer lichen, lingonberry leaves, and a sandy path, making them stand out in stark, bright contrast against the dark, silhouetted forest.

There's this small stretch of woods near my house. It's grassy, mossy, bushy and damp, but it constantly has boletes growing in the oddest shapes and groupings. 🍄 #fungi #fungifriends
Two brown bolete (birch bolete, I guess) mushrooms growing sideways out of a mossy, decay-covered tree trunk, surrounded by moss, bark, and pine needles on the forest floor. They look like either arms of a boxer, letter T or one shielding the other.

Finally, the forest had the goods for me! Otherwise, is the beauty of its tall trunks, scruffy mosses, and beaded berries enough to sustain our love? Probably not. #fungifriends #fungi

First #mushroom photo of the year! Most likely Amanita rubescens (The Blusher). It's not the season, not yet, but it's already when the hope starts. So I go to beaches where there is a good mushroom spot on the way to check if maybe - just maybe - the first #fungi are there already. #fungifriends

The decapitated Chicken Trying a creative outlet that doesn't leave me with useless artifacts, so I made chocolates (you eat what you made). White chocolate + orange jam. My kid hates orange filling. That's the sin the chicken got decapitated for, and why the rabbits lost ears. #chocolatier #diy

Swiss chard soup. It's a recreation of my dad's childhood memory of my grandma making beetroot greens soup in the spring. No idea what her recipe was, mine has a stand in for beets, some potatoes, and lazy people's dehydrated veggies. Topped with sour cream, egg and dill. #cooking #memories

When it's still too cold for most things, you can grow lettuce. Florinred, Romaine, Lollo Rossa, Australische Gele. The pink ones got their first blush once I took them into real sunlight. Been happy in the greenhouse despite below freezing outside temps some nights. #vegetablegardening #gardening

Easter eggs, the one tradition I still keep. Turmeric yellow, purple cabbage gray, yet the classic onion peel browns are still my favorite. #easter #eastereggs #keepingtraditionsalive
Thirty or so Easter eggs dyed in natural colors.
