Fitting for a historical place like Covent Garden :)

When I lived in London, whenever the office building I worked in suspected rodent infestation, a man with a ferret (not this colourful one, but still v cute grey-white one) on a leash came around and did a walkthrough. Because apparently these guys are truly amazing at this sort of a job.

isn't that almost mandatory these days? to use the robot for the goals, KPIs, achievements, whatever the list of things nobody remembers for the year end document that nobody reads. I think some software solutions that are for "tracking" these already have this built in.

I'm just here to approve the metaphor about pointing the Eye of Sauron. (Having said that, I've been QTed by a big account and nothing bad happened to me. I could even say that nothing in my life changed at all.)

Ah, the waiting room at the allergist’s office. The place where nobody looks weirdly at you for sneezing.

if there is one thing that I suspect that the fine folks who make Bitwig seem to not understand as a concept it is horizontal scrolling.

This is so much like my dreams :D bizzare yet focused on a practical detail within it.

Who said Chvrches have a new album out around here??? They seem to have lied to me. Ain’t got nothing new on Tidal, and a quick search confirmed it’s not out yet.

If you'd ask me if I'm into zombie films or series, I'd shrug and say: "not particularly, not really my thing". If you'd ask me to name zombie stuff I've seen, there'd be a surprising amount of titles. And I'd rate quite a few of them pretty highly as well.

Whilst showering I realised that the only events I've been to in the last few years are either music gigs or events that I'm performing at. The latter also includes house parties with more than 3 people attending.

this thing where a person gets shot, but brushes it off and proceeds to go about their very hectic business, drives me nuts. I can't do much nor can I think for the rest of the day after getting a tattoo, which is not a big deal just tiny skin injuries. Still the body is too busy dealing with it

because that's what I put in the roasting pan, too. I'm pretty sure this is not genAI, tho.
a glass roasting pan with lid off. In the pan there is lettuce, tomato, some herbs (parsley?), boiled tortellini(?), random strands, and what could be a couple of red onion rings (fresh-ish).

christ allmighty, I have to stop typing responses that I then need to edit to fit the character limit when I'm on a tram that's approaching my stop. you'd think I can't speak any English whatsoever.

B. I’m not fond of time travel for multiple reasons not just microbiology. There’s also spoken language evolution aspects (I can’t get half the stuff 25yearolds say, let alone the used common language further back, even if it’s all technically English), geography, all sorts. Dr Who is an exception.

Now there’s a list of things to not do. Imagine all the hours you’ve saved by not doing all that shit. Suddenly I feel way less bad about all the silly stuff I spent my Saturday on. It was way more useful, and I’m including levelling up on my current favourite game.

Sure, I love my new Iiyama monitor, and the air purifier is also amazing. But from all the pieces of tech I've bought recently, the toaster is the one that brings me the most joy.

I guess I was really tired yesterday. Not only I accidentally fell asleep on the sofa (to wake up at 4 am, brush my teeth and go to bed), but I also dreamt about me feeling sleepy.

I want to apologise to everyone on this tram with me. First for all the glitter I’ve shed. Secondly about the rather flowery smell that must be coming off me (the mf-ing glitter sprays, why can’t they make them odorless?? Surely I’m not the only performer who’d appreciate that).

I frequently exchange "bruh"s with other women, this is very true. However, there are subtleties, e.g. the "inside joke" factor. With some friends I use all sorts of borderline inappropriate language because it's a reference to something in our shared past. I wouldn't say the same to other people

Kae @anspoka.cz · 13/08/2026
well, in K-dramas themselves everyone addresses each other by their "connection name" e.g. brother, sister, uncle, grandma more than their given names. this might have to do more with the K-drama culture rather than English slang.

here DPD notifications are: we'll deliver today between xx:38 and x1:38 or xx:42 and x1:42. their absolute avoidance of round numbers is blissful. they are one of the more reliable delivery companies here, tho. it's funny how these things differ from country to country

But this just makes them even more nervous for some reason, and makes them ask and ask again if I'm really, truly ok. These days I'm not even sure what is the best behaviour in this sort of situation. I just need the blood tests done, I don't want to make people doing them uncomfortable.

Kae @anspoka.cz · 08/08/2026
Whenever I go in for blood tests, the first question the nurse asks is if I am squeamish of the sight of blood. I always say no. When they proceed to stick the needle in my vein, I tend to look away. How would you feel when you need to do something precise, but there's someone staring at your hands?

When there’s a less hot day during the heatwave (these days meaning “summer”) and the cat can finally get the cuddles, I find myself very compliant. Which I know will bite me back during winter. But still. We need cuddle time.

I watched the Spider-Noir series. If there's a Spiderman I like, it's Nicolas Cage. And I'm not a Nicolas Cage fan. But this character is definitely kind of a fuckup, girl trouble, overbearing boss (himself), covers up by wisearsing, but a fundamentally good dude who can't stop giving shits

you are talking to a fellow REM fan here, so no argument from me :D I also believe that music doesn't have to be self-important. in fact - our brains reject too clinically perfect music as way too uncomfortable. a certain amount of imperfections is what makes it relatable.

Kae @anspoka.cz · 01/08/2026
That's the thing - I don't think any of those are lesser. I listen to Islandic bands without knowing the language, bands where vocals are just an instrument, and I also enjoy the stories, so I listen to rap/hip hop, too. And all sorts of mix/in between stuff. I really like the sound of human voices

I like the comparison with opera. I think there are two sides to this: vocals to tell a story (e.g. last two Arab Strap albums), and vocals as another instrument (imo - Underworld). I'm not saying Adele is going for the latter necessarily, but the concept as such exists and can be quite amazing.

+36 Celsius in Prague. I am reminded that there are times when facial skincare consists of 3 actions: washing one's face, if going out - put on sunscreen, when coming back - put on after sun lotion (even if not sunburnt). alles. everything else is way too much for my skin to handle in this weather.

I still do, too, but it usually starts with actual research that then goes sideways deeper and deeper in the thesaurus.

Well. Between the doctor, bookkeeper, some sort of a mechanic in road building company, I suppose the easiest would be the philandering drunk corrupt government official.

Jewellery is a word I am never sure how to spell. I don't even know why, because it's not even that hard like accusation (which I can spell just fine) or one of those words where it's either double r and a single s or double s and a single r in it and everyone just guesses which scenario this time

I’m not really a fan of Spiderman. I might have seen 2 or 3 movies that I don’t really remember. I’m also not a fan of Nicolas Cage. But hear me out: Nicolas Cage as Spiderman is the best.

My second favourite is when within the same book/movie/series they use “smoking weed” and “smoking opium” interchangeably.

I once had an office buddy, we’d go to the pub every Tuesday, talk for hours. I didn’t know his name for the first 2 months of this. I had missed it from the first introduction, and it just didn’t come up later. I found his name out later when he emailed me about some work shit

And then they do it in DMs. Starting every new conversation with “hi Kae”. There’s no one else in this goddamn chat!!! Aaaaaaaa. Apologies, I couldn’t hold it in.

Kae @anspoka.cz · 28/07/2026
I also can’t remember names for shit, so I might be biased. But I genuinely think people overuse them. “Hi, Kae, how are you?” “Isn’t the weather ghastly today, Kae” “Kae, what do you think of the new cafe?” Drives me up the wall, especially in 1-1 situations. Who else would you be asking right now

I did mad amazing ribs in the oven. Melting off the bone, sweet, so hot I had to blow my nose three times. And that’s with the roast potato side.

The storm is finally here. The thunder is so loud and just keeps on going that the kitto woke up and wants cuddles. Finally. This is how my birthday should be. Even if technically the 15th has ended according to the calendar. But I’m still going to go with it as I haven’t gone to bed yet.

As every year - happy birthday to my first book. The day my own writing became real to me (and a few others I suppose). I had no idea that it will lead to so many other amazing things, including but not limited to the bass guitar.

e.g. with vocals, the massive importance of breathing - I watched many videos about it. And learning to breathe has given me a lot of new ideas on how I can use my voice to do even more cool things with it that I didn't know I could before. That has only boosted my creativity.

Kae @anspoka.cz · 06/07/2026
2 reasons for me personally: 1. yes, I've been writing for a long time, I often seek that discomfort. 2. in music you also need to learn the possibilities (and limitations) of your instrument (applies to vocals, too). Artisan videos really help with this, seeing techniques to expand your creativity
