Something @maxdood.bsky.social said today about communities resonated with me. "Why is everyone around every single game only focusing on numbers? You're not-- you don't need the game to be profitable. You don't need the game to increase your margins and shit. Why is everyone suddenly a CFO?"

My team mate from EVO Japan found my name immortalized in World Stage mode! I'm never reaching lv 43, so I'm honored! 💦 Very humbled.. I grew up with Tekken 3 as a kid, but now VF has really grown to me in my adult years. Thank you Aoki-san and the whole VF team!! #VF5REVO #VirtuaFighter #バーチャ

In the 19th Virtua Fighter Beat-Tribe pamphlet, there is a mention about my local game arcade SUGOI, that houses a VF3tb cabinet. I'm kinda overwhelmed. It's been a huge trip for me, already. #VF5REVO #VirtuaFighter #バーチャ #EVOJapan #TeamTIMEATTACK #タイムアタッ #BEATTRIBE

Back to one of my favourite games of all time. I haven't played Death Stranding properly in a few years. Looking forward to experiencing it again, this time without the online co-op component. I guess you could call it my gaming retreat for the duration of January.

#1: Super Mario World (1990) My first memory playing a video game involves me biting down on a SNES controller. That is all.

#2: Final Fantasy IX (2000) The unparalleled greatest. While the next generation of game systems was looming close, IX was able achieve so much more with much less. There is no greater stage than Gaia and its Mist Continent. No greater cast.

#7: The World Ends With You (2007) With two simultaneous action-RPG fight systems running on at the same time on TWO SCREENS, this at the time to me was what I visioned as the future of S-E's RPGs.

#9: Mega Man Legends (1997) Nothing surpasses MML for me as far as sci-fi adventure goes. This game did 3D adventure action, immersive town traversal, and an enemy lock-on mechanics a year before Zelda:OoT. A memorable OST, superb voice acting. A visual aesthetic that's aged like fine wine.

#10: Tekken 3 (1997) I believe this was the first true 3D game I've ever played. What a prime title to have as your first deep dive into a new generation of video games...! Undoubtedly one of the greatest fighters of all time. The character designs, game feedback, and BGM are top of the class.
