At least 8 more people have been banned by AudioChan. Most of which called for accountability. Others were hardly active in the server but had liked "pro-anon" or "anti-AC" posts. Keep championing your quiet supportive established creators (e.g., Billy) though, maybe they can give some PR advice

I agree 100%. I think misogyny is so ingrained in our society and men are so emotionally stunted/averse to shame that asking for accountability is an excruciating task. I've been working on this myself for a few years now. I'm thankful to have been trusted and educated by many women in the space.

I think that clingy parasocial people can be any gender and that the owner approaching anyone in this manner almost forces compliance for fear of retaliation. I was very put off by his approach and limited my interactions with him for the 9 months that followed so as to not engage with this behavior

I would be so supportive of this and I wish we talked more about it. For my first 6 months in the space, I knew very little about parasocial relationships, boundary setting, and AE/SW culture in general and I feel a responsibility to tell or warn others after some things I've seen or experienced.

I ended up making some real friends that aren't in the space for sex and came to realize that there is more to this community. I've tried to do better by not engaging in play in the space anymore, as I'm partly to blame for allowing things to get that far and not standing firm in my boundaries.

Hi Boons! I posted additional context on my page. The "clingy ones" I'm referring to are parasocial listeners/creators that refuse to respect boundaries and accept "no" as an answer. However, I do see how it is a flippant derogatory statement. I'm guilty of being a clingy one too, at times.

Here are various examples of how Audiochan has failed the community and continues to do so.

Allowed multiple dangerous users to remain in the audio community by making no public announcement when they are banned. There have been multiple times that a dangerous user is outed and the only acknowledgements made are after the community finds out through other means.

Previously allowed gen-AI art to be on the platform and ignored community feedback until it got too loud for them. This policy has been announced as changing but has not been updated on the website.

Never disclosed people outside the community were funding the website until the first townhall (a town hall that only happened by community demand).

Refused to make public announcements for townhalls, mod changes, and other major updates. Audiochan's original community moderator, Ame, had left the server on her own with no announcment. It was only after she was official removed from the team that she made a public statement and then deleted her account afterwards.

Labeled community members criticizing their decisions as "bad actors" and "drama starters."

Removed the original apology for stealing an audio from a creator when the site was first demonstrated.

Refused to repost the apology until the moderators (who are no longer there) insisted they reconsider it. It has still not been reposted.

Ignored community input for mod selection.

Ignored community reports when users such as DeepyVA and PaulNobody joined the website or server.

Refused to have one founder leave the server even after multiple members of the community had said they are not comfortable with their behavior.
