An anonymous coward @anoncow.bsky.social · 14/10/2026it has been a hundred years but we went from six 12s as the standard work week down to five 8s. I think we could go to four 8s or five 6s, if we have the will. it’s certainly a way to spread productivity gains 130
An anonymous coward @anoncow.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I think there is a natural right, though it’s true there isn’t anything in the bill of rights I think the state has a duty to reasonably prevent harm 0120
An anonymous coward @anoncow.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Oops all project management One thing I will say is the agents draw a nice critical path to show folks about why a date isn’t going to happen without a scope shift 150

An anonymous coward @anoncow.bsky.social · 02/10/2026This is a fella that believes in self driving using only webcams Iirc he thinks he solved stealth by imagining drones with cameras seeing and attacking planes 030
An anonymous coward @anoncow.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Yeah, even without llms, very easy to outsource and find scabs. An employee owned coop/cartel of some large portion of the labor? feels like things are very project based, so I wonder if something could be there 120
An anonymous coward @anoncow.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I could be satisfied with articulated career ladders, leave policies, and a level of pay transparency. And i don’t know how but something about hiring not sucking would be cool 220
An anonymous coward @anoncow.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I don’t know if I believe the capacity to make an informed decision exists with severe drug addiction or psychosis, and I think it may take a year to get to the point where the capacity comes back But hard to prove and very thorny 150
An anonymous coward @anoncow.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I don’t know what the right balance is, but I saw an interview with a lady who was on the streets for years, in touch with a hospital outreach crew. At some point she stopped refusing medication, and made the point that it had been cruel to let her suffer on the street for so long 160

An anonymous coward @anoncow.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Oh I know the logic; I’d use that particular library as a lunch break spot if the rough crowd has less rough there I think there’s a lot of benefits to centralization and easy to access services and the library is such a bad patch on something that’s not working 032
An anonymous coward @anoncow.bsky.social · 30/09/2026libraries shouldn’t have to fill in for social services’ deficits It’s great that libraries want to help folks, but some folks need more of a specialist Plus it makes kids story time hard and it impedes browsing the stacks, which is, I think, a primary library purpose 1425
