Highgate Cemetery is probably most famous for the grave of Karl Marx but there are a few other interesting memorials there. #31daysofgraves #cemetery
Angular smooth grey gravestone for Patrick Caulfield, CBE, RA, 1936 - 2005. The upright slab has stylised cut-out letters spelling the word, DEAD.

A photo from a while ago of the Bell Tree at Scone Palace near Perth. Traditionally the bell was rung when a new law was passed. There's a sword embedded in a stone as well. #ThickTrunkTuesday

The National Library of Latvia in Riga is stunning. People formed a 2km human chain to tranfer books over the Stone Bridge from the former Library when it opened in 2014. It was full of #Erasmus student activity when we visited. #Culture #Riga

Satisfied but sad to have almost finished @nicolaupson.bsky.social's Josephine Tey novels mixing real historical facts with the author's imagined life. Beautifully researched and written prompting a lot of thinking about the characters, events and ethics behind the stories.
