i figured out what i did wrong last time: it turns out you have to put a plate on top of them to weigh them down, otherwise they’ll come undone while cooking. these came out very good (room for improvement tho) and made me realized how much I’d missed them because my dad doesn’t make them anymore

yes it was still time consuming. but hey, i just so happened to want to rewatch the first two seasons of house of the dragon anyways. i got a lot more sentimental about it than i expected-realizing that i had done this with my dad when i was young, helping him cut the stems off of all the leaves

as i teach myself how to cook more egyptian food, I’ve been thinking a lot about attempting stuffed grape leaves again. the last time i did it, it was so time consuming and then a bunch of them came unwrapped in the pot anyways. pain in the ass. i wanted to try it again with fresh grape leaves….
