@anniefinch.bsky.social I'm offering a one-day craft class on one of the most magical poetry shapes, the villanelle! With roots in ancient matriarchal circle dances, this gorgeous form can transform rage into peace and trauma into power. . . June 23, 6:3-8:30 pm. poetshouse.org/event/craft-...

The Goddesses Hunt continues, now in Crete. Where water earth air light and spirit meet, I was gifted with the final form of a Divine Feminine fingersign. Have met amazing Goddess women here. Much for us to share, much to build, much to weave across this transforming, reawakening world…

I put on my great aunt Jessie's carnelian necklace to watch. Jessie started running for office (first, for alderman) on the Socialist ticket before women even had the vote. She kept running as a Socialist for 20 years! How ecstatic she would be about this!! #mayorMamdani #JessieWallaceHughan

Haley Robson nails the perfect description of #patriarchy: ”,you’ve got the bad guys and the good guys, and the bad guys are silencing the good guys which makes it impossible for the good men to stand up in situations like these to defend the women." www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPbf...

Happy Ostara Eve! Here's Eostre, later Ostara-- the sun, dawn, spring goddess from whom we get the name Easter (and east, estrus, & estrogen!) This Victorian image may look airy--but the powerful original sun #Goddess sure feels like Fire. Time for some spring poems in passionate #Anapests maybe?

this was a happy day, celebrating publication of #apoetscraft from U Michigan Press with my wonderful meter student #PatriciaSmith. I’m happy this book has helped spread awareness of poetic craft including the joys of #poeticmeter, poetic form, and #metricaldiversity! Viva the heartbeats of poetry!

Over the last few decades, I've been developing this system of associations between meters and other aspects of life, based on decades of writing in #meter, doing ritual, and teaching meter to thousands of students. Until my book on the 5 Directions is done, here's an overview! #metermagic

Someone left a #wirehanger in the stairwell. When I saw it, i thought #abortion; my uterus cramped up and hurt. Still hurts 20 minutes later. happens almost every time I see one. I haven’t had that kind of abortion. Is this generational? a kind of sympathetic magic? Does it happen to anyone else?
