We can finally give quarter and half stars on goodreads, so I’m about to go berserk rerating everything, sorry in advance to my followers there if they get inundated.

I only started #WitchHatAtelier because of a colleague’s recommendation, knowing nothing about it, and now after reading Vol. 16 I feel like Qifrey as a character was designed specifically for me. He’s an infinite angst machine. The only thing you can do with him is hurt him more.

I’m finally looking at AO3 for #WitchHatAtelier after reading the available volumes, and one of the recurring tags is “Qifrey needs a hug.” The way this is such a soft, common tag on AO3 in general but can have the most tragic implications for Qifrey specifically, oh I’m so here for this 👀

Gave up and activated my heating. Goodbye $30/month electricity bills. 😭

I know that some people hate Qifrey, but the reasons they do are the same reasons why I think he’s the most interesting character in #WitchHatAtelier by far, so I don’t care about their opinions.

(I raised my goodreads reading challenge from 50 to 60 books, because I was close to completing it and I find the fireworks animation they play when you do very annoying)

So I went a bit crazy last night and read 8 whole volumes of #WitchHatAtelier until almost 6 am, so goodbye to my very timed and regular sleep schedule.

I’m trying out #JujutsuKaisen and I just reached the “Oh no he’s hot” part with Gojo.

While I do really appreciate that so many Japanese fanartists are into lawsan, a certain proportion of them keep portraying Sanji as this tiny wholesome toe bean who’s always smiling and who needs big strong dark protector Law. I gives me Aragorn/Legolas war flashbacks.

This is extremely true. I have a stable job, an apartment I love, I'm surrounded by my cat, my plants, my antiques and my books, I'm in a fandom that's genuinely sustaining me on so many levels, and yet I feel dread all the time. The world's response to Gaza killed whatever hope was left in me.

Funny how you can call your building maintenance company about a front door issue several times over the course of a month with no results, but the minute you say you’re going to have to involve your landlord they suddenly send someone over the very next day. Really funny.

Firing up the big guns because I’m still severely lacking in 5 ⭐️ reads for 2026 and we’re in October now. Every single person I trust who has read this book has loved it. Please. Let it be me as well.

Today looks like it’s going to be the last day above 20 degrees until next May. Goodbye my lovely warm weather. Goodbye balcony reading. I will dearly miss you.

I started watching #WitchHatAtelier. Agott is not kind, but she's right: if you don't know shit, then don't do shit. Especially when there's dangerous magic involved.

ADHD constantly makes me discover new ways of drifting off, because I took a shower during my lunch break and I put body wash in my hair. I wonder how this is going to dry.

Alright, this is getting ridiculous. I’m going to have to get past this point. I’m going to start watching Egghead tonight (instead of reading it) to test if the animation still hurts my head after Wano, and I’ll see if I manage to watch 1093.

Now is the best time in history to be a music listener, because you get the stuff that’s just coming out AND all the great stuff from every era. I just discovered Sadeness by Enigma (1990) yesterday and I’m no joke going to listen to it on repeat for hours.

I don't think the One Piece Experia AMV is as good as the editor's previous works, but I'm kind of obsessed with these two shots. It's funny how we all get into One Piece because of silly pirates and their silly adventures and then we get pulled into the story's actual meaning.

I was aware in advance that the highest rated Succession episode was 4x03, and now I know why. Wow. The awards were deserved.

I hate saying this after asking for it for years, but, on first listen, the new Agnes Obel album is boring. And I’m not someone who usually thinks that way about her music.

000

Annie @anniedelavoye.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

Succession is hard to watch because I suffer from heavy secondhand embarrassment even with characters I hate, but the good parts are so worth it.

Something I love about Quebec independent bookstores is that they have one big database of books and their availability in each store. They’re not otherwise affiliated, but they knew that they could not afford individual websites and that they stand a better chance against large chains when united.

I wrote "expandable" in my wip, and thank god I had the reflex to check the definition just to be sure, because I actually meant "expendable" 💀

I genuinely cannot read the same genre two books in a row, unless they’re part of the same series (and even then…) I just finished an urban fantasy, so now I’m starting a historical horror. I’m still desperately looking for that 5 stars book…

I’m sorry, I’ll just never get behind canon divergence fics that follow the canon storyline with minor changes. Like what do you mean you altered a character’s entire backstory and relationships and yet they still follow the same exact path as in canon? That’s so lazy. What’s even the point.

020

Annie @anniedelavoye.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

The Succession soundtrack is basically 40 variations of the exact same track and they’re lucky that it’s a damn good track.

Twitter’s search is so shit now. A few years ago I experienced a bout of migraines that lasted a few days (like right now), and I know I tweeted about it. Can’t find those tweets now. I wanted to see if I had tried any medication that had helped.

We're on month nine of 2026 and my only 5 stars books so far are two One Piece volumes and a manhua reread; I'm actually getting nervous. And I'm reading lots of books! Please, I want to give 5 stars to something!!! (that isn't part of a series I already like, that feels like cheating)

I’m genuinely starting to feel like I’ve been losing my connection to French as a literary language. I speak French every day. But I don’t really read in French anymore, and that’s been the case for the past decade. Among the ~50 books I read in a year, usually only one or two are in French.

I was going to read Empress by Shan Sa, I picked it up and got cozy and everything, but now I can’t because I opened the book and saw that it was originally written in French. I cannot read a translation when I speak the original language, I just cannot. So now I can’t read this damn book.
