As we all know, Kubrick filmed the moon landing in a studio, because cameras don't work in space

When you have a brief moment of dissonance, because you distinctly remember that Nazi concentration camps had their voluntold workers outside a lot for a variety of tasks. Then you realise it's the Trump-era of concentration camps, and that they're if possible even more cruel than early Auschwitz.

This is just a very cool thing to do, I didn't realise all Knives Out were there already

watching Lemmino's latest video about the messages we've sent into space, and damn did I not expect to nearly be brought to tears by the idea of the music of people who died centuries ago just floating out into nothingness for eternity

They did such a good job at redacting James Cameron's name in the investigation of OceanGate, but this is a really fascinating read on how he became such an expert on deep sea diving.

INTERVIEW OF [Redacted]

Q. So how did you get yourself started into submersible operations?
A. Well, I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic.

I'm laughing my ass off because my mate's bike has electronic gear shifting and he's had to download an app to see what's wrong with it and it asked if it can share analytics data. We've gone too far when bicycles have apps

sometimes you just need to stab your foot with a sewing needle until you hear a clink, to realise you have had a shard of glass stuck in there for 4 days

Starting to think Trump read God Emperor of Dune and thought the "millennia of suffering" part sounded like a great idea and is trying to set the world on the Golden Path, but without any of the actual foresight

I've not been crown hunting, but just from grinding gear and ignoring sizes, I've got 16 silver & gold large crowns. But not a single miniature crown for any monster

Wearing my first ever band shirt as a PJ top feels so right - it's worn so thin I can actually see a tattoo through it, is more torn than a pair of noughties jeans, and I can't even remember the name of the band

I bought "just one book" :)

I'm also proud of myself for leaving the house instead of doing "just one hunt" for the 4th day in a row (it's double stamps at Waterstones)

I'm on almost 40 hours so it's safe to say the game is really fun, but it's still insane that I have to run on settings so low that MH World had better graphics, and still only get just about 30fps most of the time

Annie @annieanomaly.bsky.social · 28/02/2025

Got up at 6:45am to play the new Monster Hunter for 3 hours before work, it's so much fun that I had to set an alarm for myself to remember to leave the house

Aaaand that's a wrap on the Berlinale for me, back to England tonight. Mostly good, some that I loved, and a couple utter stinkers. Really hope I can find the holidays to go again next year.

If I had a nickel for every Berlinale movie about stressed mothers where a pet they didn't want dies, I'd have two nickels
