Stay for the hounds, though

This is the sweet one! Aoife, nearly 12 yo Redbone Hound, just now. Thisbe, now 8 but only 4 years in our home, can often get spicy with Aoife, but also makes sure to let me know when Aoife’s ready to come back inside. (Read the alt text)
A Redbone Hound dog looks right at the camera, mom’s blue-leaned lap in foreground, red oriental rug in background: large beautiful brown eyes, black nose, long red-furred ears, but facial fur more white than red betrays her age (nearly 12).Redbone hound, with long ears, black nose, eyes down, face white with age, approaches mom’s blue-jeaned knee. It’s not a sniff - it’s the opening move of the lovingly firm head press into mom’s legs.

Thisbe says “Me-now.” Feel better soon.
Brown-black tabby cat looks directly at the camera with her green eyes wide open, ears erect, long pale whiskers set off by her dark fur and a red/blue oriental rug in the background.

Good morning, Baby Kai! Aoife asks for morning snuggles to start the day.
An older Redbone Hound reclined on a four-poster bed turns her whitened face over her left shoulder, long left ear dangling, to look deeply at her (unseen) Person she has snuggled with to start their day properly. In the background a beige brocade wing chair and a white-mantled fireplace are seen, as diffuse early morning sunlight streams from the left to highlight this closeup of Aoife’s face, black nose just inside the left frame, and her left elbow and upper back show the lifelong richness of her red shorthaired coat.

Here’s my annual Greek Easter bread. Sadly, unadorned by painted eggshells, nor dyed eggs this year. But my husband and father (98yo!) enjoying it nonetheless.
A golden brown ovoid-shaped loaf of braided bread is displayed on a white oval platter on a mahogany dining table. Bluebonnets and white daisies in a clear glass vase adjacent.

Indeed they do! Azaleas just popping open this morning, taken from my dining room window - and they must stay outside now, sadly. Thisbe can’t resist any vegetation! (The produce is fresh from market; the daisies she’s rubbing are artificial -sadly for me)
Massed clumps of azalea blooms, variety George Taber, light pink blossoms with deep pink throats; in background are various green trees just leafing out and a white dogwood in bloom. Dark gray, brown-tipped tabby cat on a kitchen counter sniffing beet greens poking out from a green grocery bag

I just re-read these 2 comprehensive reviews (2015, 1994) of (rare) documented adverse effects of vaccines and also those ruled out, in an effort to substantiate his claim. Can’t be done. Maybe he’s citing 1960’s E Germany, high dose strains never used in US? A fancy way to lie!

Here’s Aoife just a few nights ago, with Thisbe who moved into her territory about 3 years ago and tries to boss her around.
A gray tabby cat and an older redbone hound snooze head to head, neck to ear, on a loveseat that’s protected by a brown slipcover, a flat red pillow to the side. View from overhead/oblique.

Lovely! And here’s our Ruby, Aoife’s predecessor, who left us suddenly 11 years ago. Her voice was as pretty as her face. Redbone hounds are wonderful, magnificent in a down-to-earth way.
A young redbone hound poses happily in a farmer’s market, big smile showing young white teeth and tongue out to her right, both front paws balancing on the left upper arm of her human who supports her from behind with a hug - right hand on ribcage, left hand (partly covered by the drape of a long ear) on her shoulder. The human woman’s short-sleeved white shirt sets off the pup’s own touch of white on her paws and her black nails. The woman, middle-aged with brown hair about her face, looks down at the dog’s head, which nearly reaches her chin as she bends slightly to reach the dog who is clearly - though not visible in the photo - standing on her hind legs. In the less-focused background, a farmer in a blue plaid shirt stands behind a red-checked, cloth-draped table displaying cups of tomatoes and zucchini.

Absolutely!!!
A redbone hound dog, long ears rotated forward, looks directly at the camera lens above her. The red fur of her face and feet has turned white, making her large eyes and black nose look especially dark against it. Now she stands in a kitchen, on a black and white checked floor, looking confident that her wish will be granted.

@bsw5020.bsky.social The moon has been so bright and beautiful this week! Wishing you clear skies and snuggles with your loved ones - Good night 🌖
Looking skyward past an evergreen cedar tree and bare oak branches, a gibbous moon shines brightly at the top. Stars and planets peek out among the branches, some clouds seen to the right.

Hi. 🤗 Old PCPed here, more retired than not, still some fill-in work at a specialty clinic, and volunteer board of HeadStart agency. Been spending a fair amt of time contacting electeds lately about HHS, CDC etc, offering to educate staff. Chat anytime. Oh, the canine and feline to bed before me.
A dark gray tabby cat and an elderly redbone hound whose pretty face is turning white sleep with their heads and necks cuddled against each other on an upholstered loveseat that’s covered by a chocolate brown slipcover, a red sofa pillow to the side where the cat’s foot rests. The view is from above, and black and white checkered tile floor seen in the foreground. The small cat was there first; much larger hound is curled up, fitted into less than half the cushion left for her.

Mary, she is the Bishop, the chief pastor and leader of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, since 2011. The National Cathedral is her seat, though it also considers itself a House of Prayer for all people. I expect her husband and kids will be fine. So proud she spoke our Baptismal Covenant truth.

My father, celebrating Navy’s 2024 win over Army by singing along The Navy Blue and Gold at the end of the game. LCDR Malcolm H Thiele, USN(Ret), Annapolis Class of 1949, will turn 98 on New Year’s Eve.
A very elderly man with sparse white hair, wearing a heavy gray sweater over a light green shirt, stands holding on to a rollator, in front of a large TV screen showing cheering Navy football players and midshipmen. He and his daughter next to him are smiling animatedly. The interior wall behind the TV is painted yellow, with several small paintings hanging above the TV, and the floor is covered by a red-dominant and navy blue oriental rug. A plain round clock hanging to the right of the paintings shows the time as 5:37.

Some days that’s more than enough accomplishment.
A shallow kitchen drawer of light maple wood is pulled open, revealing about 50 spice jars lying in alphabetical columns, while a gray/brown tabby snoozes on the gray counter above.
