Hey Bluesky friends, can you please send positive thoughts or prayers our way? I've been in the hospital since Sunday and my husband is feeling overwhelmed and our daughter is really missing me, too. Surgery is tomorrow. I want to be home hanging fall decorations and writing.

I'm certain it does, but to varying degrees. Every project is different, as they should be. I hope it's never obvious or "preachy." I'm aware enough that while I can't help but think about our world, everything is still tailored appropriately for the story I'm telling.

I took my daughter to her first riding lesson and she's already talking about jumping one day (this girl takes after her momma). Her horse was perfect (thank you, Izzy) and I think this trainer is going to be a great fit. #ridinglessons

Agents usually ask for sample pages with your query, most often the first five or ten pages. The golden advice is to be super aware of how your fifth and tenth pages end.

She's used to read a lot and would buy the biggest books she could find so they would last longer. She's not a reader anymore and has zero interest in understanding what goes into writing a book. She thinks it sounds like way too much work and can't grasp how I enjoy it.

In a lot of queries I’ve read, not only during the contest, but for clients and during my agent internship, too, I’ve noticed that the character’s internal journey is often fuzzy, or left out completely. What do I mean?

Update: She was AMAZING! I mean, so good that the people around me were talking about her without knowing I'm her mother. She wore a costume similar to what Anastasia wore in the animated version. I chose many pieces she can wear again. She did so well! I'm a proud momma!
