I do think that we need to change some rules. When I was a child there was a limit to the amount of cash you could remove from the country. I think you should only be allowed to vote or donate to a political party if you reside for more than 6 months in any 12 month period & pay tax on income earned

£1000 was kept back until we put in an internal bathroom. Thatcher deregulated and allowed banks to give mortgages for homes and also allowed mortgages for rental properties. Something which normal people couldn’t access until then. This IMO has caused our current issues

My first house was a 2 bed farm workers cottage in Devon. Bought for £15000 in 1980. Saved the deposit without any problem and mortgage was no issue as I’d been saving with the building society since I was 11. House bought aged 19. 2.5 x largest earner (man I then married) 1x mine was the max.

Yes and last week they lost in the town council by-election for my ward as well. The Reform councillor who’d won in May had resigned and resigned from Reform

Please don’t blame the BBC as an organisation but who the Tories put into both the Board and into the management team. The MPs today delivered a really good plan for the way forward. I don’t watch QT because of FB remember her husband is a Tory activist

My mother certainly got free really good home care at the end of her life in Scotland. She was living with my sister up there. If she’d been with me down here in England it would’ve cost a fortune

on state pensions get all the other benefits and help they are entitled to for the link to average earnings to go. Care is blocking beds in the NHS and the costs are so high that this needs to be a priority. Good preventative care reduces NHS costs improves quality of life

I will be in receipt of my state pension in May next year. I had to take early retirement on health grounds due to Long Covid thus reducing my work pension by over a third. It is so little that even though it is linked to inflation I still don’t pay tax. However, I am more than happy if those only

My work pension is not large. I had to retire early after being discharged on ill health due to Long Covid. I am fine with my state pension not being on the triple lock. It will still be increasing at least at 2.5% or RPI whichever is higher. That’s more than pensions were increasing care is needed

About time. It is only with safe routes that we can reduce the boat crossings. I would like to go further but at least they’ve made a step. I think we should return to how it was in the 1970s when claiming asylum at embassy’s was possible and claims could be processed much closed to home countries

As is normal with any police proceedings. They have to wait for further investigations prior to any charge being brought before a court or not. This is all normal unless very cut and dried evidence is very quickly found. No explosives no easy charge if any happens. It how our law works

If there is insufficient evidence to hand or they are awaiting forensic evidence the police will have absolutely no choice than to release. However, they can put restrictions on people that are on police bail

I would be happy to pay increased tax of some description as long as it was not only ring fenced but that the ring fence was such that a future government couldn’t breach it like they did with NI

Pace with modern technology, modern techniques or modern expectations. Massive underfunding has made the issues much worse.

Unfortunately due to the cuts made to NI and who pays etc it no longer even covers the cost of the NHS. If it got brought back into line it as originally envisaged it would still need to be increased. The NHS was never expected to do all the things we now expect in 2026. The funding has not kept

It’s what happens when the Tories put a whole lot of their right wing cronies into positions of power within the BBC. I will never forgive Laura Kausnburg for Brexit and Johnson!

I have been pointing out this fiscal fact to the anti brigade for years. Migrants pay more in tax than they receive from the government in any form of benefits etc. I suggest they fact check my statement, I even suggest where they can find the info. However, I’m still a lier!

There is a maratime law against damaging a vessel at sea and making it a possible danger to other vessels. Which is possibly what his actions would’ve done. It is what he was originally charged with but not what was presented to the court by CPS. I presume due to what they saw as best outcome

Another person who wanted Brexit so he could keep his money away from the tax man. He doesn’t live here so his opinions are absolutely worthless as they are just based on information he receives from the limited sources that billionaires rely on. They don’t live in the real world!

I do wish that there was some proper factual reporting regarding the RNLI. It is the Coastguard who direct them. The boats crossing are hardly sea worthy. They are there to prevent the loss of life. Any life no matter whose. Please support the RNLI

Unfortunately in the UK there is absolutely nothing we can do about Trump and his behaviour. If we try to sanction him the economic situation will only get worse. We are buying defence elsewhere. We need government contracts to be removed from all USA companies but he will retaliate

The Times before Murdoch was a reputable paper that people trusted now it is little better than the Sun. Just remember what they did to the families of Liverpool and the victims after Hillsborough. It is something in common with the Murdoch papers verification without justification of innocence

He is very dangerous and is no Christian. Unfortunately social media makes it very easy to quickly organise events. He also happened to live close to where events in Portsmouth happened. It was bad planning to land them so close to his home base

The people who are attacking a woman protesting at a conference, people who have risked their lives to get to our shores and the police protecting them are not patriots. They do not understand what being a patriot is. They talk about Christianity and their is not one bone of Christian humanity

I agree it’s disgusting. It was at a little less than that when my daughter went to Uni which meant she could afford to go and I could afford the odd cheque to help her. She still worked part time all through Uni to supplement her income. Now her eldest will hopefully be going to Uni in 3 years

Where instead of local signal boxes we now have a rock in Manchester that covers an area nearly to the boarder and down to Crew and across into Yorkshire. Privatisation, fragmented the whole system making everything worse. It is going to take time to make it better. However, it’s much better than

Our rail infrastructure is massively underfunded. This has been the case for decades. Now we also have the problems of global warming on Victorian engineering. The embankments are often on clay and now are suffering from serious shrinkage. Then you have the drive to centralised signalling rocks.
