Congratulations, and thank you for your dedication, your ideas, and all the hard work you put into this project. This project demonstrates how much young scientists can contribute when they are trusted, supported, and given real ownership.

But what makes this work especially meaningful is the team behind it. 👩‍🔬 Several amazing students contributed substantially during their bachelor’s and master’s theses: Anastassiya, Marie, Caroline, Mona, and Sogand.

For us, this is about more than visibility. Science should not only be visible, but also searchable, accessible and useful. We would love to hear what you – the community – think. And we are already working on the next update to include the most recent developments.

Anna Wolfram @annawolfram.bsky.social · 15/03/2026
Our goal was not just to review the field, but to make the science more accessible and explorable. With OrganoidMap, anyone can find models relevant to their own work, trace how the field has evolved and spot gaps where new solutions are still needed.

Anna Wolfram @annawolfram.bsky.social · 15/03/2026
What does a decade of cerebral organoid research actually look like? We wanted to answer that question in a way people could explore for themselves. So we built OrganoidMap – a free, open-access tool to navigate the field. organoidmap.cs.uni-tuebingen.de

7/ Maybe it’s time we make space not the exception, but the foundation. Not less science — just smarter, more human science. #ScienceCulture #AcademicLife #MicroSabbaticals #MentalHealthInResearch #LettingGo

6/ Not a luxury — a necessity. Because operational output without strategic perspective doesn’t take us far. It wastes time, money — and most of all, people.
120
Anna Wolfram @annawolfram.bsky.social · 23/06/2025
5/ So: what if we built that kind of space into the system? Micro-sabbaticals. One full day every month. No meetings. No deadlines. No emails. Just time to think.
130
Anna Wolfram @annawolfram.bsky.social · 23/06/2025
4/ That partial distance made all the difference. Enough silence to hear your own thoughts again. But flying halfway across the globe every time we need perspective? Not exactly scalable.
120
Anna Wolfram @annawolfram.bsky.social · 23/06/2025
3/ But clarity doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from distance. For me, it took a trip to the other side of the world. Still working, but in the quiet hours — when no one messaged — thinking returned. Strategy returned.
120
Anna Wolfram @annawolfram.bsky.social · 23/06/2025
2/ Stepping away is hard — not just physically, but mentally. Work follows us everywhere: in our thoughts, on our phones, across time zones. Even “breaks” aren’t really breaks.
120
Anna Wolfram @annawolfram.bsky.social · 23/06/2025
1/ Science is relentless. Exciting. Important. Exhausting. Deadlines, grants, papers — the treadmill never stops. We call it progress, but often it feels like just spinning wheels. What we rarely talk about: the cost of never stepping back. 🧵
Two women walk along a wide black sand beach in Raglan, New Zealand. It is a crisp winter day with clear skies. The beach is empty, the ocean calm and the atmosphere quiet and spacious — a moment of reflection and distance.

2/ These meetings always remind me how small the science world really is. I randomly ran into Carina — we studied together years ago, and suddenly there we were, catching up on the other side of the globe. ✨
