Oh boy... I'm sorry. It's so stressful... And I know you have a lot of personal health issues to deal with too... It's bloody awful isn't it! My OH has health issues, my parents are close to 100 and my dad can't stand up without being in massive danger of falling over... it's a nightmare tbh...xx̌x

Exactly... The way out is heartbreaking, but, it really is the only way out at this point...xx

God, isn't it. In your head you know these places inside out, till you go back... It's kind of heartbreaking tbh... Sending love to you...xxx

Oh boy, do I know this. I really know who the good people in my life are now... I know who I'm 100% there for now too...xx

Anna Twigg @annatwigg.bsky.social · 15/10/2026

Thank you🙏 I'm really trying to do this tbh. I have an absolutely amazing OH, and a couple of brilliant friends who make all the difference in the world. I'm also trying to hang on to who I am via, films, books, art, getting out as much as possible. I have to, otherwise I rely on wine too much 😭

120 2

Anna Twigg @annatwigg.bsky.social · 15/10/2026

Ooh, yes, I'll try these. I think I've tried other biscuits in this range tbh... I'll definitely look for these...x

Oh God, isn't it! We have so many personal things to deal with at this age, and then there's our extremely elderly parents... I'm basically running two households at this point...xx

Oh, I love those fabulous corner shops that sell European stuff and those aisles in the supermarkets... There's a gorgeous Polish cherry based spirit drink my friend buys all the time. It really is the best... And there's some fabulous sweets I pick up from time to time. I have to limit myself tbh 😬

This is the hardest period of my life so far... And, I've dealt with my OH's parents long term illnesses and deaths. No-one warns you about this. All you hear about is finding a partner, careers, having kids etc. This is the hardest part... Middle age. Worse than the rest of my life put together...

I was at my parents house yesterday. For various reasons I had to go deeper into the estate I grew up in from the age of 3 to 23ish... It's so strange to feel like you know somewhere like the back of your hand to not knowing it at all... No-one prepares you for middle age...

I was talking to a friend yesterday and we concluded, because this is the important stuff, that, Polish alcohol, sweets and crisps are the absolute top tier... I will brook no arguments...😬

Back on Twitter, when autumn proper arrived I would always post the video someone made for Sandy Denny's No End (Demo) by holding a camera phone up against the train window. By popular request (well, from @robinallender.bsky.social) I'll start doing that here. youtu.be/o9sERw40Pes?...

Just saw this amazing review of Machu Picchu.

Review reads “Nothing to do once you’re up there. Saw it all in 5 minutes.”

Sad to lose George Fenton. Some great soundtracks. This section, albeit brief, from The Company of Wolves, shows the power of music in film.

Politician, perjurer, crook, crap novelist and general arsehole Jeffrey Archer has carked it. That both hilarious and sinister clip of him on Newsnight lives rent free in my head. Looks like we'll be waiting for ever for you to be Mayor now pal. Can't wait to read all the glowing press tributes.

Every single charlatan paying tribute to Jeffrey Archer should be played that clip of him leaping up and down like Rumplestiltskin shouting "you WAIIIITTTT till I'm mayor" at a news crew. Despicable individual protected by despicable people and I suspect we don't know the half of what he did.
