I salvaged this big guy from a UT Austin Law Library book sale maybe 10 years ago. Stuffed it in my backpack and hauled it home on my bike. Heavy! But still gets used pretty regularly.

I was waiting for a take-out order at a little bar in Austin when "It's a Dark Day" by The Reverend Horton Heat came on the jukebox. I didn't have my phone with me, so I grabbed a cocktail napkin and frantically wrote down every lyric I could make out to look it up as soon as I got home.

I felt this way (and still feel this way) about Louis Sachar's "Wayside School" series when I was that age. They brought such joy, and also like, cracked my young brain in ways that made me a more creative individual? I don't know how they compare to Pilkey's books, but maybe your kid would enjoy!

Loved foil art criticism with Tomer! Old-border foils are my favorites, too. I don't have much of a foil collection due to not using them in competitive play because of curling issues, but every now and then there's a card (like JPN Strixhaven Archive Duress) that I need to own in shiny.
