Ahhhh, my poem “The Mourning Robot” is a finalist for the inaugural Nebula Award for Best Poem! I wrote this poem in a hospital room and it’s a nod to all the invisible caretakers who love, sacrifice and mourn for the living.

This. When I hit 30 I thought, I'm going to die one day and I will have not tried to write and I've always wanted to be a writer. So I made a choice then that I would take time from other things, sacrifice, to work on writing. It's been years and I'm not where I want to be yet.

im resolved to be less outcome oriented in 2026. there is too much out of our control. goals oriented around the business side of writing are not fertile grounds for art making. but i want to grow so i can do my vision for my manuscript justice. whatever it takes, however much time it takes

i‘ve recently read Meander, Spiral, Explode and Spring, Summer, Asteroid, Bird. i’ve been reading short stories that sit on the fence of genre and literary. i’m taking an acting class now because i want to understand how to *physically embody* a character, how to write more natural dialogue, etc
