Another long format, do those work on here now? I made this a while ago to apply for a job (didn't get the job) 🥞

A drawing of pancakes being made from ingredients - sugar, milk, eggs, flour, butter, baking powder. There is a mixing bowl and a whisk, as well as a frying pan with pancakes in it. At the bottom of the image is a plate with pancakes, strawberries and cutlery. There is a cup of coffee and a jar of jam.

Fish game has LANDED. Since 2024 me, @toadlett.bsky.social and a musician friend have been chipping away at an illustrated story game about descending to the bottom of the ocean in an enchanted sea-craft, and the strange and terrible things that ensue. (1/2) #TheMurmuringDepths

Hello #Portfolioday! I'm Anine, an illustrator based in Scotland, and I'm looking for work - email me if you think I'd be a good fit for your project ✨ 💻 www.anineillustration.com 💌 anine@anineillustration.com (I also do private commissions, email me for that too)

A drawing of a hot air balloon above overgrown ruins. A group of sailors is looking at birds through telescopes.

A drawing of some items: A diamond ring with a snake design - a flint knife wrapped with string - a gold chain with small gold bees - two clay toy dog figurines - a cup shaped like the head of a horse or donkey - a horse shaped candle holder - two crab apples - a votive loaf of bread (shaped like a hand) on a plate, with a bowl of salt and a lit candle.

Three small drawings: One of a shrine under a pine tree with a stone inside, one of a salamander on the forest floor, one of a coastal path with stone steps, two tall trees, stone columns and two hikers in the distance. The overall feel is very late summer to early autumn.

A drawing of some things you might find in a kitchen: a tea towel, a bundle of herbs (parsley, thyme, sage, bay), two wooden spoons, some butcher's twine, a cutting board, a big knife, a candle stub on a little plate, a ceramic jar, some cardamom pods, a garlic bulb (bisected).

I get a bit wound up about sharing little drawings that don't feel finished or purposeful enough - here's a sketch and the same sketch with some colour

Ah I will have a look at the Folie, thank you! It’s probably down to practice as well, it’s a new way of working for me :)

Ah good to know it’s not just me :) I think maybe the pencil is the problem, the thin-but-heavy design is weird!

Anine Bösenberg @anineillustration.com · 03/07/2026

Yeah I had started to wonder if my pencil is a clunkier model, but that’s just what it’s like!

Anine Bösenberg @anineillustration.com · 02/07/2026

I’ll give that a go! Good to know there’s a learning curve 💪😬💪

Is there some kind of …trick? To drawing on an ipad? I really don’t enjoy it, even with a paperlike it feels so weird and wobbly

A commission for Dave - thanks again Dave! Email me if you'd like me to draw something for you - I'm saving up for a new laptop, so I'll leave my ko-fi link here as well just in case :) ko-fi.com/anine

A drawing comprising of four panels. In the first, swifts are flying across a blue sky. In the second, a path leads up to a gate in a stone wall and looks across some water. In the third, there is a house on an island in a lake. In the fourth, two red-and-white cats are sitting on some stone steps.

aaand here's May from this year's postcard calendar 🐢

A drawing of a turtle swimming in a pond at night. There is a small house perched on the turtle's shell, amongst some vegetation. It is unclear if the turtle is very large or the house is very small. The light is on inside the house, and there are moths flying around the little lantern outside the door. A life ring is hanging up on the veranda. There are iris flowering in the foreground.

When I put this on tumblr a few years ago, someone complimented me on the accurately drawn plantain (the weed not the banana) and thb I'm still riding that high

A drawing of a small house with a leaf for a roof in a meadow. There are dandelions, clover, ribwort plantain and speedwell growing among the grass.
