Biggest compliment I can give to Ace Combat 8's writing is that Cope's monologues consistently reminded me of B. J. Blazkowicz's from the Machine Games era Wolfestein.
Blasco's were still ahead by a noticeable amount but Cope's got far closer then I ever would have predicted.
