Gabi seems confused on the situation; as you said, hating Harry Potter doesn't mean you hate women at all.

I get the "missing required key recorduri" message when I try to rectify the situation.

Migrating to Blacksky messed up my account somehow - I can't edit my profile, and any images I've posted don't load any more.

#mutualsky I still haven't covered enough to cover for the blood test, which is going to be next week. I'll open comms again if need be, but if I can get shares for this I'd appreciate it so much!

Im not one to tag people but as the big art community guy here @davis.social could you boost this please? More than one boost. They have only 3 days left and bsky is not coming together much to help and they are shit out of luck as it is. Serious medical emergency being ignored.

I have the series on DVD, incidentally; I still need to watch it.

Anime Commentary @animecommentary.myatproto.social · 07/10/2026

Remember to not give the HP show any attention; the creator of the franchise is a hateful bigot, and she'll likely use whatever profit she earns from the show to continue endangering the trans community.

He was rather far-right, from what I understand; why he became praised is mysterious when taking that into account.

Anime Commentary @animecommentary.myatproto.social · 07/10/2026

I imagine this observation holds for the 2000s, as well; I honestly don't remember anything about the decade, but I wouldn't be surprised if homophobia/racism/etc. still existed back then.

110

Anime Commentary @animecommentary.myatproto.social · 07/10/2026

Nostalgia is an interesting phenomenon, in that people who reminisce about the past can forget how bigoted earlier eras were; you can enjoy media from a decade, but bear in mind a lot of prejudices were still prevalent back in the day.

This sentiment applies to everything, including stuff that you might assume is minor/ephemeral (such as trailers and bonus features on a DVD/Blu-ray).

Anime Commentary @animecommentary.myatproto.social · 05/10/2026

Remember to preserve whatever media you can - we don’t want a repeat of what happened to silent cinema (where approximately 70% of silent films are considered lost).

Major games studios being able to make their games as violent and sexually explicit as they want while small developers can’t definitely speaks to hypocrisy.

What advertisers expected out of FurAffinity was ludicrous - plus-sized bodies are not inherently sexual, and shouldn't be treated as such.
