Hi everyone! We are looking for animators who will be attending GDC to volunteer as a buddy for our scholarship winners! We’ll have a small social one evening (on us), & it would mean a ton to our scholars to have someone in the industry to meet & chat with. Please reach out if you are interested!

We’ve all been busy so this post is late, but please donate if you can! We use the money to help our scholars make it through GDC week with as little financial distress as possible, as well as support them through our Mentor Program. Every little bit helps! #GivingTuesday

The game industry is a bit of a mess right now and it’s hitting all of us, but when things get bad, they’re often toughest on marginalized folk. So. @aiviwave.com and I are launching the Rising Star Patronage Project to support game composers & make great music! www.gofundme.com/f/video-game...

#WhatAGameDevLooksLike is coming back to GDC next week for its SIXTH year! Last year I wrote about the challenges of mass layoffs, online harassment, and lack of funding, and #WhatAGameDevLooksLike was a little beacon of joy and celebration of how brilliant, diverse, and kind our industry can be.

In case you’re attending #GDC2025 and do not know about this; if you’re ever feeling unsafe, need assistance, or see something troubling, you can call this 24 hour hotline. They will listen and assist however possible whether you’re at an official GDC event or simply in San Francisco for the event.

For our first skeet or whatever, we'd really love to provide more financial support for our GDC scholar cohort this year- to kick it up a bit, the board will personally match up to $5000 in donations. Help us support the future of game dev animation- no donation is too small! animfund.org/donate/
