I'm disappointed that my engine work was so cluttered and unstable that it really couldn't handle weaker hardware, but that was an eyeopener. I will be making sure that this game will run on as much hardware as I can. Its still just me but if things start taking form soon, expect cool shit.

I wanted this to be the thing I could proudly show off after years of blood, sweat, tears and heartbreak, but unfortunately for my ops I am too fucking insane. Project Anima is being retooled and the story about the streets of the real capital are yet to be shared.

Instead, I wanna talk about the future of Project Anima. Its namesake is, of course, Animasoft. This started off as a small 4 person fanwork group but as 2 others drifted towards AI usage, everyone slowly lost interest. I decided to claim it and use it with whatever team formed amongst it.

out by our landlord pro-AI pro-big tech government. Another Idea I had was a more gameplay-loop focused handheld title, and a comic to tie the two together. That kind of scope is too massive for one girl, especially when that girl is working on other things too. Those projects have been shelved.

of picking it up once I could sort out my PC problems. The AI "market" made computers, both as a hobby and as professional equipment ridiculously expensive and I will not be able to afford a new GPU, especially now that the 2027 Budget is out and the entire working class in Ireland is being choked

As development went on, I began having computer problems. To be more specific, my GPU has died, making the machine unfit for efficient development. As the game was still in concept phase, and I was inundated with other responsibilities and my mental health, I shelved the project with the intention

County Cork, Ireland. The original scope for the game was to make a Yakuza-like game set in the city center and parts of its surrounds. The project was inspired by a joking comment from a friend of mine who said it would be, and I quote, "fuckin deadly". I began working on the game this past May.

Ok, March is 100% too ambitious for a reveal window. I feel like an explanation is in order. I'll be speaking very personally because this is a decision I came to myself. I decided to publicly speak on Project Anima late last week. Project anima was intended to be a multimedia project set in

I'm happy that all 4 of these studios avoided complete closure, and I think its a display of strong resilience in their teams. Our best wishes are with the teams at Double Fine, Compulsion Games, Ninja Theory and Undead Labs.

Major studios can and will tear apart successful indie studios. A buyout is always a death sentence: 3A studios hate when smaller teams make big steps. They buy, poach the members they like and cull the rest. Indie teams should always stay indie.

Once again, Double Fine Productions will be an independent studio.

We're thankful to Xbox for seven great years together, and for working with us to reach an outcome which preserves our history and culture, and returns ownership of our games to us.

To everyone who reached out to us these past few weeks: Thank you for all your kind words, we've been deeply touched by your messages. We will share more soon on what comes next.

Your continued support is greatly appreciated,

Tim & Double Fine
