Memphis, Tennessee - On Friday, February 28, 18-year-old Christopher Triplett beat and dragged a dog to a pedestrian bridge in Memphis, Tennessee. The teen threw the dog from the bridge, not once but twice, killing the dog.

Albany, New York - In the early morning hours of February 23, Christopher Maxwell,34, dragged his year-old puppy to a church parking lot in a cage. He doused the pup and cage with an accelerant and set it on fire - killing the confined young dog in one of the most horrific ways possible.According to the Albany Police, before setting his pup on fire, he had starved her for days - leaving her crated without food or water.

Orlando, FL - On March 18, Orlando police took 57-year-old Alison Lawrence into custody for the December 2024 killing of her senior dog, Tywinn, who was drowned in a toilet at the Orlando International Airport. On December 16, Lawrence killed the nine-year-old miniature Schnauzer in an airport bathroom after she was told that she did not have the right paperwork to board a flight to Colombia with her pet.

Broken Arrow, Oklahoma - Leshon Eugene Johnson, a former NFL running back, has been charged in a large-scale dog fighting operation in Oklahoma. According to a March 25 news release from the U.S. Department of Justice, 190 "pit bull type" dogs were seized from Johnson in October 2024. The federal agency commented on the size of Johnson's cruel operation:

The Live Oak Police Department said they were contacted by Jenny Lynn Mayes with an animal abuse complaint; responding officers found Mayes holding a bloodied, injured, 10-week-old puppy.The authorities described the pup's injuries, writing:Officers observed the puppy had several cuts around her ear, swollen eyes, and blood coming from her nose and ears.

Green, OH - On April 11, a 57-year-old Ohio man mutilated three newborn kittens: cutting off their tails and using the dismembered body parts to torment a woman he was in a dispute with. According to the Summit County Sheriff's Office, Bret Stalnaker got in a verbal altercation with the woman earlier in the day.The woman was able to retreat into a detached garage and Stalnaker began sending her threatening text messages about harming nine-day-old kittens. The deranged man continued sending texts, describing how he intended to cut off the tails of the kittens and their mother.

Santa Ana, CA - On April 23, Santa Ana Police executed a search warrant at the home of Alejandro Acosta Oliveros in the 2300 block of W. Wilshire Avenue. The 45-year-old man found himself facing felony animal cruelty charges for abducting and killing what police say are "a lot" of cats in the area.

The video sparked justifiable outrage, with numerous tips being phoned to wildlife and police officials. And though the identity of the two sadistic individuals appears to be known, only one person has been arrested. Police took 30-year-0ld Cameron Bernard Torrence from Mint Hill, into custody on May 8 facing multiple charges, including instigating cruelty to animals, fleeing and eluding arrest, and probation violation.

Folsom, Louisiana - A mother and her son are accused of harming more than two dozen dogs who were forced to endure the unimaginable cruelty of dogfighting. According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, a good Samaritan flagged down deputies on May 12, alerting them to potential animal abuse at a property in the 12000 block of South Hay Hollow Road near Folsom.Deputies, working together with St. Tammany Parish Animal Control personnel, found 28 pit bulls who were forced into a living nightmare by Austin Alexander (23) and his 45-year-old mother, Natia Alexander. The authorities described the dogs as "severely malnourished" and suffering from wounds consistent with dogfighting.
