Hatsukiss is funny bc it is genuinely a harrowing read at times but every angry reviewer must be like 12 with how every example of "similarly fucked up" yuri I see given could only be disturbing to a child lol. Not even Murcielago or warikitta? Adashima & TAtST? Seriously?

Similarly to Throw Away the Suit Together, these books suffer from blatant misrepresentation of the contents the audience is going to be reading. The cover art for the first two volumes gives the impression that the story will be a little gloomy, but the cover for volume three signals that there will be a happy ending between our two main heroines, which is blatantly false. The back cover descriptions are all standard will-they-won’t-they material, and at no point is there ever a content warning for the material the story will contain. At best, I would describe this story as an insultingly unfun Doomed Toxic Yuri, and at worst, I would categorize it as manipulative, dark, and pedophilic Slop taking the vague form of Yuri to lure people in.

And considering the author's other works (specifically Adachi and Shimamura, in the same universe) I am genuinely starting to wonder if maybe he actually hates women and/or queer women, because he keeps writing them with weirdly unhealthy relationship dynamics, and these toxic dynamics are allowed to proceed
