Beautiful autumn weather for my Sunday morning walk around Austin, Texas. Today I present some of what the streets had on offer.
Part of a large colorful mural with a wheat paste of face on an inset fire door. A large blue dumpster on a cracked asphalt lot. There is a large wheat paste of a head and hair of a drag queen on the entire right side of the dumpster. The head has yellow hair, blue eyeliner and dark red lips. White washed plywood with a black marker drawing of three strong lines that show mid body legs and butt in semi profile. There is a large speech bubble emanating from the butt that reads “hi.”A closeup of a black top road with a single serving condiment package on the right of frame. The package is somewhat wrinkled on its right side and on the left it has opened with a large semi wet spot coming out of its left side. The wet spot is dark and blends in to the blacktop.

Coolest start to the Sunday morning walk this fall. I forgot to get up a bit earlier due to the time change and missed the full darkness. There is the faintest bit of fog.
Standing at a crosswalk with the sun at my back. My shadow spans the white rectangles of the crosswalk at bottom half of frame. At top half of frame is part of the downtown skyline reflecting morning sunlight through a bit of fog. The bottom half of the legs of blue jeans that have been cut off rest on the pavement of the street as if the person was walking and the cutoffs just fell off. A strange polygonal shape of light gray paint in the middle of a gray painted wall. Government’s attempt to 1984 real art. A weathered wheat pasted up door. A closeup near the locked up center with a padlock showing on bottom right. A painting of a head on the right side. The head is all red with a bunch of blue overlayed on the left of the head.

A colorful Mexican restaurant lit through a large window. There is a table and chairs in the window light on the bottom center of frame. This is an old image I created a few years ago. I have been playing with AI to describe images. The version I have been using is fairly good at 'seeing' the image and getting most details. But the stories it writes are not very good. Some of the elements it comes up with make me laugh.
A composite of a sign with a grackle with neon lighting with the word 'GRACKLE', an airstream trailer with a couple street art overlays, a lit street light and an old yellow pickup truck. The backdrop is a large Rocky Mountain and all the other parts sit atop a green grass lawn.

From summer vacation in Philadelphia.
A grey utility box with large square black and white wheat paste on it. The image has a large bald eagle in profile perched on a dead looking man (a face like dia de los muertos skull) with big hair combed in front, a large stomach and a suit with a long tie off to the side. The eagle is pulling the left eye out of the man's skull.

Tonight was only a 20 minute wind down before bedtime. This is made up of 4 of my images from around Austin, TX all taken with the same camera over the last couple weeks.
An assemblage of 4 of my photos. The background scene is of Palm park playground with the downtown skyline with a bunch of multi-color 8 sided dice falling down in front. There is also a mechanical armadillo in the lower left of frame on the side of the playground. There is lettering from a newspaper over the entire image.

A memory photo composition of 5 images. The main image is of a subway car. A blue ghost cartoon drawing street art with 'STAY SAFE' written across the eyes is positioned on the orange subway car seats.. Another street art sticker with "Who Would Jesus Deport?" is on a wall of the car. A diffuse city view is throughout the image.

Beautiful weather to start my Sunday morning walk around Austin, Texas today. The city was a bit quiet but it is starting to pick up as the ACL crowd rises from the party stupor.
Willie Nelson has been yarn bombed with a nice small green knitted color. Large Willie Nelson bronze sculpture in front of the W Hotel / Austin City Limits. Part of the Austin skyline looking southwest with the demolition of the Austin convention center in the foreground. A person rides by on a scooter in the foreground. A large round convex mirror with the photographer on the left. A dog and man walk by on the right. A graffitied storefront of two windows and a glass door. I like to make panoramic photos. Many times I do not have my tripod & wing it hand held. Photoshop has gotten impressively adept over the years at stitching them together. But every once in a while Photoshop goes full Picasso on it. I think I love this result better than the real 6th St.
A surrealistic Picasso-esque version of a panoramic of 'Dirty Sixth Street' in Austin, TX. There are various store fronts, bars, and hotels all connected at odd angles.

A nice slow and quiet start to my Sunday morning walk around Austin, Texas. It is so much darker this time of year.
A corner view of the entire Juan In A Million restaurant in the morning’s twilight with all the neon lit and no cars yet. A closeup of the rusting steel of an old vehicle. The old push button chrome handle on the upper left and next to it on the right is the emblem of “Sportvan”A close up view of the entry to an old home. The right three quarters have a screen door entry flanked by two large windows that are similarly sized to the door. In the left quarter is a large graffiti of a pawn chess piece outlined in black and shaded in green. Coffee time. A window box looking out over a patio with black cafe tables and red chairs. In the foreground on a wooden shelf is a black camera and a cappuccino with a white and brown latte art in a brown and teal cup and saucer.

Very warm humid start to my Sunday morning walk around Austin, Texas today. Stopping for a coffee at Revolución.
Upper half of frame is the downtown Austin skyline in the background. The lower left two thirds is a building with a fading mural of Historic AUSTIN Texas. In various fonts and boxes in blue, reds, and yellows. Most of the background is old buildings mostly of brick. The the bottom quarter of frame is street pavement. Connecting the tow parts is a concrete barrier with large swaths of color at various angles. These are the new concrete barriers on historic dirty 6th. Background is a large wall with a terracotta pattern that sort of looks like bricks that have several round holes in them. There are two large globes of light hanging from the top of frame. At the bottom of frame is a bar with various coffee house paraphernalia, including three bright yellow espresso heads. A barista with medium beard is concentrating on intricately pouring milk from a pitcher into a large yellow cup. A round white marble table top with a large coffee cup and saucer with an intricate set of hearts in latte art on top. My black daily camera with black strap is on the table in the back.

The entire background is a wall with colorful art. An image of a street crossing with a crosswalk signal pole on the right of frame which is covered in flyers and stickers. The opposite side of the street has a building on left two thirds of frame which is covered in colorful mural about East Austin and on the left third is a house. A large green and gold grassy field with a long shadow of the photographer angling from bottom left of frame to upper rightPhoto of the outside entrance to a bar called Momma Dearest. The left bottom of frame has a heavy steel spring toy horse. Right of frame is the door which has an oval window towards the top with a logo of a white wire hanger with the bottom wire spelling out “momma dearest”, the door handle is a long BB gun. Photo taken through a car windshield. There is a street lane on the left side and a couple utility boxes on the right side and a building with some street art. In the center of the frame is big ugly vehicle stopped at a stop light with a sign 'E CESAR CHAVEZ ST'. The vehicle has a large label of 'TOYOTA' in the center of its back. I often like to go back a few years in my photo library to see what was happening on the current date. Here is what I found from 5 years ago on 2020/06/17. Chris Rogers working on his, at the time, new mural, also another piece that matched.
A street sign at very left shows that image is on 800 E 4TH ST. Majority of frame is taken up by a very large mural with black, purple, blues, and some red orange at bottom. Top has "WE CANT BREATHE" in large letters with a purple human heart in between the CANT and BREATH. Just below the words, taking up a third of the Frame are images 7 black people killed by police. On the bottom is a scene a skyline, with horse men, burning buildings and a kneeling football player. In the bottom front center is a man (Chris Rogers, Artist) wearing a white t-shirt looking at the audience holding up his paint brush.A street sign at very left shows that image is on 800 E 4TH ST. Warm and humid start tom Sunday morning walk around Austin, Texas. Found some new street art which is always nice. Also watched some of the convention center demolition.
An angled view of a building wall covered in many wheat paste pieces of street art. Very colorful. There is a rabbit head with red eyes in upper left. There is a Kenny from South Park on lower left. An old style bomb with fuse at type and a frowny face. A side view of a long wall with a ramp and raised sidewalk there are four large mural panels. The leftmost is a burger riding on a car. The next panel is a zoomed in face with bright blue eyes staring surrounded by clouds and red orange splash lines. The next panel is various geometric shapes with various mostly bluish colors. The last panel on the right has two seated figures wearing hoodies, one figure has a green smile face with a green sneaker at bottom and a cloud stream of smoke wafting through the panel. Frame has a grey brick and mortar background. On right lower 3/4 of frame is a combination lock box showing its four numbered wheels. On top of the lockbox is a small silver Matchbox car. Frame has a city street with tall building to left. On the right upper 3/4 is a large building being demolished. A turret part still stands, though its back 1/3 is missing.

A piece of street art made up of red hearts that have arms and legs and eyes, with the heart split down the middle so that the two halves are facing each other and kissing. In the center is a woman’s head and shoulders, her head looks like it is made of a hand with fingers coming out of the top. The woman is smoking a cigarette with her hand holding the cigarette to her lips.

Cloudy humid day for my Monday morning walk around Austin, TX. I looked for newer street art.
A side of a building showing metal rusted roof. The wall is light blue color. The mural is a portrait of a black man from top of shoulders up to forehead which hits the roofline. He is wearing a yellow windbreaker. He is holding a yellow mask up with both hands at sides of his face and looking out at the viewer. To the left of frame is the word INKCOLORA mural on a corrugated metal fence with a bit of tall grass at the bottom of frame. The mural is of farm workers squatting in a huge field that expands into the distance. The workers are harvesting tomatoes. In black lettering at top of mural in the slay extending the full width are “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.”Looking at an angle at a whit box truck from the front driver’s side windshield to just a bit of the side of the cargo box. There is some yellow and blue graffiti on the right of frame on the cargo box. On mid left center, attached to the drivers side mirror is a deer’s skull with its antlers. A side view of a building with a a roof that that meets up at the top like the letter A. There are city trash bins on bottom of the frame on both sides of building and the photo frame. There is a strip of pavement at bottom left, followed by a thin strip of grass that butts up to the bottom of the building. The entire side of the building is painted a mix of purple blue turquoise and grey as a base layer. The main subject of the mural are 4 grackles (Texas small crows) that fill the height of the building. Tow pairs each facing each other. One set in lower front and the others in the background.

A beautiful start of the day for my Sunday morning walk around Austin, TX. Few people at the start. As the city awakens I saw more dog walkers and then mothers with their children heading to coffeehouses and cafes.
A cracked concrete porch with two doors to a house at the back. On the porch and a small wooden bench are several colorful small gnomes. On a chair at the right is a white and pink large glazed pig. Center left is a flower with brown center and bright golden petals surrounding it. A fling honey bee is flying towards the flower from the right. A partial view of the entrance to an old building turned bar. In the right at the top of concrete stairs is a sign congratulating UT GRADS. On the left upper portion is an old window in the house. At the lower left is a pink colored picnic table where a white cat with tan ears is sitting looking towards the camera.
An Austin Fire Engine is heading towards the left of frame. It is marked truck 01. On the upper back of the truck is a white board with black lettering “RESCUE”. Large buildings are behind the truck. A street sign shows this is E5TH ST

Playing with one of my photos today during the cold spell of winter and news.
A black and white photo collage. The base image is a foggy morning image of the downtown Austin, TX skyline looking West from East 6th street. The view is taken from the middle of the street with a light post to the right and buildings to the left.
There are three white mannequin figures, one on the left sidewalk, one center front in the street and one large one in the upper right distance behind and above buildings. All the figures are standing and looking towards the viewers.
