Effect: This amendment would require that new or expanded transitional encampments that are designed to accommodate more than 100 occupants be located at least 750 feet from the property line of primary or secondary education institutions, childcare centers or playgrounds within a public park and at least 500 feet from public parks greater than two acres in size.
Transitional encampments that exclusively shelter families with children or occupants in recovery from substance abuse would not be subject to the separation requirement.
Current regulations prohibit the location of encampments in unopened public rights-of-way - and on property designated for parks and open space by the City and King County. Childcare centers are defined in the Land Use Code as "an institution that regularly provides care to a group of children for less than 24 hours a day, whether for compensation or not. Preschools, cooperative child care exchanges, and drop-in centers where children receive care by the day shall be considered to be child care centers." Seattle Municipal Code Section 23.84.A.018.

After 20+ years, I've finally cracked the code on how to make restaurant style and quality Mexican rice. The trick seems to be make it normal in the rice cooker with all the ingredients, then fry it in hot oil like Chinese fried rice. This may be a no brainer to some of you, but my head exploded.
