In Bowser's various punching animations, there are several unused sprites of him with a red arm, presumably after punching something spiky or scorching. However, these sprites and the mechanic as a whole go completely unimplemented in the final game (as far as i can find) #bowsersinsidestory

A sprite for Bowser that went unused in Bowser's Inside Story, depicting bowser holding his left arm above his head and clutching it with his right arm. His left arm is red from pain.

A second sprite, similar to the first but now his right arm is red with pain.

Same as the first image, but Bowser is a giant now.
