You know what the preventative measure is? Requiring students to come to school POTTY TRAINED. That’s the preventative measure.

The say goes on. Like it should. The student changes into clean clothes if they have them and we move on. So she says “well if you’re not going to out in preventative measures then idk what else to do.” Huh? Excuse me? lol

What ends up happening in the case that the custodian doesn’t come to clean is that we close the restroom down. We have two restrooms in the classroom. We just have the students use one cuz that’s all we have. But our day doesn’t revolve around waiting to have pee, vomit and poop cleaned up.

I say “Well we already call the custodian to come clean but sometimes the custodian doesn’t come and the student still has to walk out the bathroom and sometimes they’re already OUT of the restroom by the time we discover someone had an accident. Doesn’t seem feasible.”

And she says well is there way she can prevent them from walking onto the pee?? I say “what do you mean?” She says “Is there a way you can call the custodian to come and clean and then have them clean the students shoes too?”

So she comes in today and says hey so what’s happening with the carpet? I’m like my theory that when the students have accidents in the restrooms they’re probably tracking the urine on their shoes too and end up walking on the carpet.

But after a week I noticed the door smell was back. It smelled like urine again. So we’ve kept trying to find the smell because sure they just cleaned the carpet but maybe it wasn’t a deep clean. Turns out once we sniffed the carpet up close the entire classroom rug smelled like URINE.

I just had the most ridiculous conversation with the principal. So we’ve been having a problem with the classroom smelling like urine. A couple weeks ago we had the custodian clean the carpet. It’s back to being filthy for OBVIOUS REASONS. They track dirt from outside onto it.
