Loss in tax revenue must be a couple of ruble by now... And the financial refinery aid money isn't exactly decreasing as time goes by. Ukrainian strikes & depth are only increasing. bsky.app/profile/maks...

Russian banks where funding Wildberries expansion in recent years. With Wildberries unable to pay it'sincreasing debt. The state is forced to own this bad debt. Then add all the thousands of retailers across Russia losing their inventory & facing bankruptcy.

Indeed. Wildberries was already $17.7 billion in debt in 2025. By next month there won't be a single Wildberries warehouse standing.

Only 13% m2 is undamaged. With an massive $17.7 billion dept in 2025 to fund many these brand new warehouses. Wildberries can only be saved through billions in monthly bailout money from the Kremlin 💸 bsky.app/profile/tend...

The expansion funds comes from Russian state banks. Wildberries was already in 2025 $17.7 billion in debt.

Probably not the main purpose. But, its true Kremlin has major economic involvement in Wildberries & that it's warehouses was supposed function as mobilization depos by autumn after the Duma "election". Mobilization by autumn will be near impossible for Russia to organize.

andypandyguy.bsky.social @andypandyguy.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
There's no way Wildberries can survive without Kremlin taking over ownership. Then burning billions each month to keep Wildberries alive.

andypandyguy.bsky.social @andypandyguy.bsky.social · 04/08/2026
My guess is the Russian state is entirely financing Wildberries by now. Sunken cost fallacy. We might as well burn another billion since we dump billions before of tax money.

Still have to raise new capital. And find new retailers willing own goods in Kazakhstan that can get stuck at the border & sell at a loss. Kazakhstan = different kind of risk

Ah, the smoke & water damage 👌 Any clothing is gone due to smoke & any goods with cardboard nearby is water damaged. Then emergency repairs will be done to plug the giant hole in the warehouse from new weather damage. And this will cost 💸

Well, the avg Russian citizen was doing relatively well before 2014 & certainly post 2025. Difference is now that even the Russian state is having difficulties with funding its bond sales to fund the deficit. The RU banks are already to deep in debt.

andypandyguy.bsky.social @andypandyguy.bsky.social · 02/08/2026
Exactly. Not just that. Most of rural Russia is 100% dependent on the Eastern located warehouses. Local retail is just waiting to collapse now...

andypandyguy.bsky.social @andypandyguy.bsky.social · 02/08/2026
The inventory is owned by small to medium business, not Wildberries. Thats the real value, not the warehouses. If these thousands of Russians go bankrupt then then the entire online retail sector is dead for years to come.

Wildberries built these new warehouses on 17.7$ billion borrowed money. It will take a massive bailout to save Wildbarries.

Interesting to see Kremlin's solution, given billions of $ will be needed in bailout money to prevent massive bankruptcies by autumn... Since Wildbarries is already 17.7 $ billion in debt by last year. bsky.app/profile/tend...

All inventory is owned by small/medium retailers. Insurance is no covering the losses & we can be sure to expect not just Wildbarries meeting bankruptcy by autumn. Also thousands of retailers across Russia. Then the banks who holds all this bad debt...

That's >if< Kremlin is telling the truth about it's gold reserve... With the bank sector already in deep debt from purchasing of state bonds. If the banks starts to fold due to bad debt, it will tricky for Kremlin to find bailout money. Wilbarries as an example.

"...the share of impaired loans increased from 4.8% to 5.5% over the three months." Wildberries bankruptcy would the tipping domino for Russia's fragile economy.

First comes the fire. Then bankruptcies. Third, no new purchases by survivors as the risk is simply to great at this rate. Fourth, small local retailers with high prices & long delivery times. From individual tiny warehouses.

Each m2 🔥 = thousands of small & medium business going bankrupt in Russia. Remaining retailers can't risk losing their savings & won't make new purchases. By autumn we could see a collapse in the Russian online retail industry.
