What I see in the response from his opponents is a series of unimaginative responses that suggest they don’t have the ideas - I sense fear. All Kemi and Farage have is a narrative, if Burnham comes with serious big thinking the mist protecting their narrative quickly lifts to reveal an empty space.

I’ll give Burnham credit. Regardless of the actual policy right now, what we need as a country is serious structural change that leads to an actual outcome. For well over a decade those ideas have been completely missing from politics. So I’m please to see he’s willing to raise them.

That is an example of sports washing in action. I agree it’s limited at this point, but if NUFC become ‘the best’ its impact will be stronger. It’s a matter of what headlines they can write or own and as a mid table PL side they’re more limited.

I read sometime ago that it’s part of a wider investment program specifically in the NE - I believe they bought a chemical plant recently in Tees. But I don’think there is no positive image advantage, if not why did the Chairman want to be so close to the trophy lifting - His image online changes.

My take - 2 in midfield isn’t working and our centre backs aren’t good enough when opponents get through. passing in that zone when under pressure (and not tbh) isn’t good enough as the forwards are too far away. He’s not going to be able to roll this out every week, the crack has opened up #nufc

I’d argue that all of this has been clearly evident, the strategy is young talent, players like Steur identified, data on them studied to find high ceilings. It may not all be perfect or what’s desired by fans but it is there. Worldwide scouting probably takes more time but the strategy is the same
