Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 06/05/2026Oh nice. I like that series so I’ll go pick it up 010
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 15/04/2026Ah shoot.. I have to go through each video and manually uncheck that. damn 000
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 13/04/2026A beautiful overcast evening at Washington Park in Anacortes WA 000
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 25/01/2026Your post from 18 hours ago is the last one I see on your tiktok posts. So still not resolved 000
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 24/01/2026Sunset this evening was quite beautiful in Anacortes WA 020
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 11/04/2025This is not an endorsement for this company. In fact steer the hell away from anything like this. 010
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 11/04/2025So over on tiktok things are getting weird. AI ads for companionship are emphasizing privacy and just going for it. 100
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 04/04/2025Trying to login with a bluesky app password which worked on an earlier beta. no longer works :( 050
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 26/01/2025hey.. another tiktok refugee! yay! glad to see you over here. and yeah we need to stick together 050
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 26/01/2025Is this imposed politically on women or is it in response to misogyny? As in the 4b movement? Wikipedia et al aren’t clear 000
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 26/01/2025I’d be interested in learning more about why this is happening in so many countries. I will have to go do some web searches. thx for posting this 110
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 21/01/2025Refugee from tiktok here hoping that skylight will work well. Can beta on current iphone 000
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 21/01/2025I think we would notice if the world spun off its axis even without having the news on. I guess it depends how big the deviation is. 000
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 21/01/2025Had a good time in the Dolomites this summer. Talked to a lot of cows. @skylight.social 100
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 18/01/2025I was talking to Jen about this. It’s apparently that this app is more like twitter rather than facebook or tiktok where there is an actual conversation. It rather sucks IMHO. 100
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 18/01/2025This seems to be not just a web interface limitation as I can’t go back to original thread on iphone either. Please tell me I’m missing something obvious… someone? 000
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 18/01/2025I'm either an idiot or just not observant, perhaps both. I'm looking at my notifications on the web app side of this and it shows me a notification to a reply to a post. How do I get back to the post it was from? 200
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 17/01/2025From zero to deployed in less than a week? Maybe a prototype but nothing that scales. Just the opinion of an old fart who implements Microsoft Azure. 010
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 17/01/2025Maybe with support from @mcuban.bsky.social they can handle the storage and networking costs of longer/decent videos. We don’t need youtube to recreate tiktok. Cloud storage can be cheap if bought in bulk. Latency isn’t a huge issue for video as sub-millisecond isn’t required. And it’s write-once. 040
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 17/01/2025Are videos going to be limited to sixty seconds which is current limit on bluesky? Hope you can increase that. 360
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 16/01/2025are you doing this open source? Where is the repo so that I can help? 010
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 13/01/2025If I only knew somebody who worked at Microsoft.. oh wait. I do! Still.. Windows team WTF? 000
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 13/01/2025What is up with Microsoft suddenly dropping support from Windows for a Dell mainstream printer that I’ve had for twelve years? And it’s not even like “oh we can’t find a driver to install” at install time. It’s “we can’t find a driver for a printer we printed to yesterday”. Microsoft.. do better. 100
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 09/01/2025Ah.. works totally different on my iphone.. all conversations are threaded correctly and all comments bring up the post. Bummer about the web interface sucking. 100
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 09/01/2025It looks the same, but the second one is just where I clicked on the notification. Sigh probably something stupid I'm doing 100
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 09/01/2025Doesn't work that way for me. Sigh. I see the notification and when I click on it, just goes to here: 100
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 08/01/2025Logistics: Bluesky needs to make it easier to see comments in the context of the original post. I had to go back to my profile to see the original post this was a comment on. Am I missing something obvious in the bluesky web UI? 100
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 08/01/2025This also shows total revenue coming in and not just "non-retirement income". The deficit would be 2.08T without this borrowing for 2024. 000
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 08/01/2025Also: is it disingenous to show "Social Insurance & Retirement" on the income side too since in theory that should be held separate for future social security reimbursements? Since Congress tradionally borrows liberally from that account I guess it makes sense to show it. 000
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 08/01/2025I find this to be a really interesting graph. 2024 income and expenditure for US govt. The "Corporation Income Taxes" portion seems to be a bit on the small side. It would be cool to see an animation of this graphic with change over time for the last 80 years or so. 300
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 11/12/2024I like this article in the NYTimes about "good enough" vs greatness. It's a bit cerebral in parts but still worth a read: www.nytimes.com/2019/02/20/o...nytimes.comOpinion | The Good-Enough Life (Published 2019)The desire for greatness can be an obstacle to our own potential. 000
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 05/12/2024This is me having a conversation with a cow in the Dolomites 000
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 24/11/2024Oh a bug here.. when I go back to your original post it doesn't show my comment. Did you delete it? If not definitely a bug 100
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 23/11/2024That is a mantle best left on the floor. OTOH it sure feels like everything that is happening in the US is things she was pushing hard on. So I kind of blame her. 100
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 15/11/2024Hi I'm Andy and I've worked for a large software company for many a year. Currently wondering how we're going to safely generate a whole lot of electricity to power the AI infrastructure being built out around the world. We need that Mr. Fusion from "Back to the Future" and still waiting. 010
Andy Herron @andyherron.bsky.social · 15/11/2024I've got code running on that box. I was on the NT team at the time but my component shipped in Win95 and Win98 too. 000
