DWTS Maura Higgins was the surprise of the night. I really liked the premiere of Food Network's newest Bobby Flay competition, Bobby Flay's The Line. It focuses on restaurant kitchen process more than cuisine—and also lets the chefs adapt their food in real-time to judging. Give this one a watch, even if you're tired of Bobby Flay.

By the way, when Julie told Mallory about the audience of players, a camera panned across it, and I counted 25—including the Cookout, who were an entire row. If there weren't more rows off-camera, it seemed like just six rows of six people each. That's not a lot. And after what the producers pulled with this twist tonight, that may soon be the size of their actual audience. Ah, who am I kidding! Big Brother fans keep watching and/or following along, because even though we can't feel the goo blast us in the face, there are plenty of opportunities to feel completely fucked by this show.

CBS gave me a birthday present: a new Survivor cast! Even in the new era, and my nervousness about the post-new era era, I'm always excited for a new season of Survivor.
There are 21 players yet there are two tribes in the season preview, so likely one of these people is going to get screwed or exiled, or is actually Jimmy Fallon in disguise.

I'm excited that we have a player with an Irish accent, Lewis, who introduced himself as "an Irish farmer living in Puerto Rico" but neglected to mention his 10 million likes on TikTok videos starring him and his wife—which I guess is a win, that he didn't drop his handle.
He said, "Everyone loves a cheeky Irish person. We have the best crack." That's how the subtitles spelled it, so I assume that means cocaine is now fair game in the Open Era. (P.S. I know he meant
"craic," ie. "news, gossip, fun, entertainment, and enjoyable conversation.")

I hope the twists allow players to make moves, instead of becoming paralyzed by them, and I hope it's going to be interesting!
The visual theme of the season is whales, for reasons, and that includes a large whale skeleton at Tribal Council, made from the bones of the new era players who died waiting for someone to hand them pizza during the after show.
