I’m fairly curious how they think a system that requires hundreds of millions of pounds worth of state of the art hardware is going to live on my alarm clock

The ONLY way to 'use' generative AI in a way that protects and supports human creators is by never, ever using it and actively shunning anyone that does. This is profoundly stupid. Genuinely incredible from a union that's supposed to protect creatives.

Plucky kids face off against Dracula, a werewolf, a mummy, the creature from the black lagoon, and get help from Frankensteins monster. All with a practical effects and an 80’s soundtrack. We deserve this

Just watched The Monster Squad that i last watched when it came out in the 80’s. This could really do with a remake and Guillermo Del Toro should make it

I want them stopped at the airport if they want to come in with too high a new worth. They'll be given a list of public works that need funding. I do not give one solitary fuck that this sounds like extortion.

I want the super rich having panicked calls with their accountants when they hit like 900 million. I want them frantically building parks and libraries like it's going out of fashion.

Becoming a billionaire should be a terrible thing. We should actively legislate extreme punishment and full asset forfeiture for when you hit that level. Force them to give huge swathes back in terror of losing everything. Then we should start lowering the bar.

I’ve asked many American friends why they don’t just tell them to fuck off and am yet to get a good answer. The idea that these little dictators hold actual legal powers feels insane

They utilise a tactic known as The Crashing Wave, named for the seas of their homeworld of Skomer. Assault terminators form a barrier that an enemy pushes against while jet pack equipped marines overfly then attack from the rear

In case anyone is curious. The Puffin Guard are a second founding chapter formed from the remnants of a scratch company of Raven Guard that were presumed lost on Istvaan. They specialise in ambush attacks making use of water and high ground, particularly cliffs.

Muscle postin' Please enjoy my Jack Reacher Troggoth, the idea came to me when I was extremely ill and having wild fever dreams. #nerdlings #miniaturepainting #minipainting #paintingminiatures #warhammercommunity
A Troggoth with a grots head in place of its normal head. It's painted with a more human skin tone and sculpted abs, inspired by Jack Reacher. Photo of the back of said Troggoth. Side view. Look at his little head! Otherside view. Knuckles coveted with gore. No weapon because his arms are his weapons

Grot Tank Kitbash This was my submission for #MiniOfTheMonth for Sep 2026! Thought I should post it here as well and add some close up shots (check comments) #Nerdlings #jhbackdrops #warhammer40kㅤ #orktober #hobby #miniturepainting #minipainting
"The front right view of a Grot tank painted in the Blue and white colors of the Deathskulls klan of Orks. Visible weld marks are present along the main gun and a scavenged red barrel that houses a number of exhaust stacks, rivets securing a number of extra armor plates, field repairs, and decorative "teef". Looted guard equipment is hanging from the tank's turret, and a skull is mounted at the top of the tanks antenna. The tank treads are caked in orange red dust kicked up from the environment.""The front right view of a Grot tank painted in the Blue and white colors of the Deathskulls klan of Orks. I’d then move onto the Children of Time series by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Big concepts, generation ships, evolution, and of course giant talking spiders. Finally Premee Mohamed’s The Seige of Burning Grass is an incredible exploration of the futility of war.

John Scalzi is probably the easiest to get into. He has a few standalone novels that are great fun Starter Villain - man inherits his uncles supervillain empire, cat helps The Kaiju Preservation Society - a secret organisation works to protect giant monsters from exploitation

I don’t want AI generated movies or music tailored to me, that kinda defeats the object. I want the weird and wonderful things that lovely talented people have taken care to bring into the world. It’s a window into another soul. It’s literally the fucking point.
