did you know gaming (real) gaster in undertale was originally supposed to be cartilage head from achewood, but it was deemed too difficult to take and send a real life photograph of every player who would abandon a dying man, so it was scrapped and turned into an ARG for dataminers instead

Completely unintentional, but did you know that the bass thumps in the final Trauma Team operation theme kick in at the exact moment during the KH2 title screen sequence when the screen flashes and the dot lands in the box to give you control of the menu? Neither did I.

My one issue is that some songs are just arbitrarily Cursed and the tool will decide to shift my loop points, making the looping sound really bad if the song plays through all the way ingame. The discord link in the github is dead and the dev doesn't appear to have a social media presence.

I figured out how to get custom music working with KH2 rando! There's a nice little tool called SCDToolkit2 that lets you convert audio files to the .scd format that the game uses, along with setting up loop points for tracks, and even volume auto-balancing. Now I just gobba grab some music...

Still, I had a good time! Each campaign is short enough that it doesn't overstay its welcome, and while the story does feel very contrived at times it's nice to have more context for the stuff that happens in KH3. See you in Dream Drop Distance V, everybody!

D-Links are cool but they definitely get much more situational once you get to the endgame and have a better command deck lined up. The finisher commands are very hit or miss, especially Stitch's advanced finisher which takes 3-5 business days to fully resolve.

I know that BBS isn't the most popular but I'd love to see a rebalance mod so the commitment-heavy commands are more worth it, and while I'm dreaming I wouldn't mind the KH2 revenge value system ported over to this game so doing big combos on bosses isn't a bad idea.

This was their first time with the Command Menu system and I've been a big fan ever since first playing it in Recoded. While there are some commands that are objectively busted, I think the fusion stuff gives enough reason to just play around with em and not look up the "best" ones.

Finished up with BBS! I do have some gripes, mostly with humanoid bosses deciding to not be in a combo anymore, and the game balancing is kind of all over the place, but they threw a ton of new stuff at the wall here and overall it felt like more hits than misses compared to Days.

Been doing some thinking and I think I'm gonna shelve the Elden Ring playthrough. I'm enjoying the game, but interest in the whole decrees thing dropped off a cliff after the first few sessions, and it's pretty clear that I overestimated people wanting to keep doing it for a 60+ hour game.

If you do decide to play it, absolutely run it under Melon Mix so the controls aren't quite as clunky and you can focus on a single screen. It even supports Re:Coded which is extremely underrated and fun, even if most people only know it for putting bugs in Riku github.com/vitor251093/...

Anyways that is Days Done And Dusted Divided By Dos. I definitely get what they were going for with the game and it does a nice job of fleshing out the story of Ice Cream Squad, but the gameplay has too many frustrating parts that it's a really hard recommendation for anyone but the KH superfans.

Funny prank that Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days plays on you: You remember how I grumped about finishers being the only way to stagger weak enemies? That ability actually does exist in Days, but for Roxas it's exclusive to the Pandora Gear which is only available at the very end of the game.

It genuinely feels like a boss that was designed for multiplayer first and then dropped into story mode with no scaling or changes to account for the fact that one person now has to deal with everything. Great fight 0/10 would never touch again

Also, this boss fight is preceded by a runup where you have multiple mandatory fights against the tentacles, just in case you wanted more opportunities to drain your resources beforehand.

It is possible to go directly for the coffin and ignore the tentacles which was my chosen strategy, but it's still a huge slog since you can only get a few hits off safely before the big hand pops out and slaps away over half your HP. Guarding it is awkward and not recommended, either.

Keep in mind that while you're doing this, you're constantly being attacked by Leechgrave itself which spits poison clouds everywhere and fires bullets at you while you're dealing with the tentacles. The tentacles can be stunned with a guard, but it's also risky since everything above is happening.

Magic takes out the tentacles very quickly, but since casts are a limited resource in Days you only get so many shots before you're forced to resort to melee combat. And if you're specced into magic damage, your melee combos don't do a lot, making it take even longer once you run out of casts.

The "intended" solution is to take out each of the tentacles which causes the coffin to fall down for a bit, allowing for some free combos. Unfortunately, trying to fight the tentacles with melee sucks ass because they wave around constantly, and a lot of your combos will whiff.

I finished the Leechgrave mission in KH Days and it's really impressive how badly that boss sucks equally for both melee and magic builds. For the uninitiated, Leechgrave is a big coffin flanked by 4 tentacles. If you're close, a big hand will come out of the coffin and hit you for a ton of damage.
