This photo was taken at 11:36 AM. Whitehorse is rather far west in out timezone, and we are on permanent daylight savings time, so our mid-day is actually ~2 PM. Winter sunrises are late, but even on the shortest day of the year, it is still light out at 5 PM.

In the Yukon, we have a few weeks in the depths of winter where the sun never rises higher than 6 degrees above the horizon - golden hour stretches to five-and-a-half, removing the line between sunrise and sunset. Quality over quantity. #photography #yukon #whitehorse #winter #art #landscape
