Andrew Facini @andrewfacini.com · 30/09/2026Damn sounds like they humans aren't reliable and they should automate that whole process or smth 1231
Andrew Facini @andrewfacini.com · 25/09/2026Yeah I mean that's just what a warhead bus looks like - it doesn't need to be up there for long, and the warheads themselves are well insulated. Here's sort of a photo of a last-gen Trident bus (the blunt middle part is the third stage and would not come with afaik) 260
Andrew Facini @andrewfacini.com · 22/09/2026This is what we were able to count up in 2022 - i.e. a lot of "topical" connections, but often they weren't much more than a phone number. There has been a lot said about Chinese officials' hesitance to wield authority, making official-to-official connections seem more workable 131
Andrew Facini @andrewfacini.com · 16/09/2026Basically feels like this every day for those looking at systems 010313
Andrew Facini @andrewfacini.com · 16/09/2026Just on nukes, yes I see reason to worry / take seriously. Humans are historically bad at adopting new adversarial tech quickly, and we've pretty clearly entered an arms race mentality on both AI *and* nuclear weapons while we tear down the post-45 world order. Ignoring this area smacks of hubris. 1281
Andrew Facini @andrewfacini.com · 16/09/2026All this to say "AI might kill us all" is less a literal risk because a computer isn't "doing" anything directly. There are paths, I guess, that lead there, but not on this front so far. But why does that matter when it can corrupt, co-opt, or just degrade the human systems we heavily depend on? 1222

Andrew Facini @andrewfacini.com · 11/09/2026This was garbage (the carcass was bison-on-bison and the bears were at least 2000 ft higher up) but we enjoyed status as bear-danger havers 180
