The #Patriots just intercepted Josh Allen on a "second play." This was always the game.

0282

I'd say don't forget that Efton Chism play, but I can already hear 15 Boston radio-callers bringing him up Monday if they finish this. "QUIT EFTON AROUND AND PLAY HIM. THE KED'S GOT GRIT. LIKE JULIAN AND WELKAH THE WAY HE MOVES AND BRINGS THAT LUNCHPAIL TO WORK. anyway, I'll hang up and listen."

6231

Rhamondre Stevenson bought Maye more time chipping in pass protection, and another big-time connection with Romeo Doubs.

0191

The #Patriots were in man-to-man on the Bills' last 2 plays: a 24-yard pass and 34-yard touchdown pass. Buffalo picked Carlton Davis on the 24-yarder running "Mesh," a man-beating concept. Bad time for Zak Kuhr to deviate from a successful game plan.

0140

Bills have found something running on the #Patriots in base defense. Jacksonville's rushing success rate against base was 77% last week. Base puts worse players on the field for New England, even if they're bigger.

1130

#Patriots giving away a lot of hidden yards today with these touchbacks.

0160

Rough Will Campbell game today.

1170

TreVeyon Henderson finally making tacklers miss is *huge.*

1160

I know the Bills are down some players, but without Christian Gonzalez and Christian Barmore, the #Patriots staff has been a step ahead of Josh Allen and Joe Brady most of today. Allen has an a DOT of 7.2 yards and a success rate of 33%. 33%!

0251

Josh Allen goes right at Vildor on that 3rd down. Surprised to see the #Patriots play man-to-man there.

090

Kindle Vildor is the CB replacing Charles Woods on the outside when the #Patriots are in nickel or dime defense.

180

Zak Kuhr keeps bluffing blitz pressure on 3rd down from all kinds of alignments and fronts, and the Bills aren't catching on/making them pay.

0122

That might be the greatest, if not funniest, throwaway I'e ever seen.

9121

Drake Maye (with 1 big, bad, butterfingered exception) has been a totally different QB under pressure today than he was through Week 3.

0230

The #Patriots again bail out of a 3rd-down blitz look and Buffalo calls a screen that goes nowhere. A win for Zak Kuhr.

0130

The #Patriots converted 4th-and-2 and then 4th-and-3during their 2 TD drives, a win for the nerds in our eternal battle with the "take the points" crowd. (AKA dorks!!!)

0181

#Patriots targeted Romeo Doubs vs. Maxwell Hairston on his TD and there on 4th down. Two big catches.

0130

A low-odds slot fade to a 5-8 WR on 3rd-and-3, when you're going to go for it on 4th down? Yuck.

2120

Josh McDaniels put Rhamondre Stevenson in an offset RB alignment with Maye under center to help chip for Will Campbell, who had a rough 1st half in pass pro. Maye gets time and a 19-yard completion.

1130

There's one (the Doubs sideline grab). McDaniels did leave 1 tell though, subbing Henry for Raridon on that play. Raridon has seen mostly run-blocking snaps so far. Sure enough, play-action.

090

Bills WR DJ Moore (shoulder) is officially doubtful to return. He had been questionable.

073

The #Patriots defense played man-to-man on 15% of snaps in the 1st half, way below their 38% season-long rate. Last year's games vs. Buffalo: 43% and 50%. Two things: no Gonzalez, and NE likely wants to protect against Josh Allen's scrambling (0 rush yards scrambling so far).

Lee Corso: Not So Fast, My Friend

Drake Maye enjoyed 2 plays where he finally had as many throwaways as interceptions this season. Enter Romeo Doubs:

Football can be a cruel, stupid game lol.

3141

Looked like a Charles Woods busted coverage on that long completion. Drove the flat and let Shakir go behind him.

060

🚨 Drake Maye's shoulder is still fine🚨

2200

Buffalo is 3rd in rushing success rate inside opponents' 5-yard line since the start of last year, and Vrabel gave away important real estate. Allen scores a 2-yard rushing TD. Vrabel also studies every ref crew. He knows who's sensitive and who's not. Just bad, bad, bad.

0120

Mike Vrabel flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct after a killer penalty on Marcus Jones in the red zone. Half the distance for Buffalo for nothing that happened on the field. You just can't have it.

8192

Dre'Mont Jones got hit in the face, then laid and stayed down after that flag like he'd been concussed and hit in the stomach with a cannon ball simultaneously. He's fine, though. Just get my guy an Emmy.

0140

Allen just got 50 yards on a "second play" there. The hardest thing to defend in football.

090

The #Patriots have more offensive points today (14) with 5:37 left in the 2nd quarter than they've scored in any other game this season. It's Week 4.

091

#Patriots S Craig Woodson got crossed up at the top of Josh Palmer's route on that incompletion. Nobody will catch a bigger break today than him with that drop. Woo byo.

071

Drake Maye: still making bad situations worse when under pressure. Gotta tuck that ball.

0121

#Patriots OGs Alijah Vera-Tucker and Ben Brown both put on skates on that sack. Bad play all around.

0141

Only a 1-yard scramble, but good job by Maye stepping up into the pocket with both hands on the ball.

270

The #Patriots are working up to a play-action pass off this 12 jumbo personnel.

050

The #Patriots couldn't reasonably ask for a better 1st quarter. Immediate 3-and-out for the defense. Maye leads a 97-yard TD drive, sees coverage, responds well to pressure. Bills driving again, but killing a ton of clock and helping shorten the game.

0130

Josh Allen is seeing the #Patriots defense really well this drive. Pressure, safeties rotations and finding holes in the zone.

2110

Fun cat-and-mouse game with Zak Kuhr and Joe Brady right now. #Patriots bailed out of a blitz look on 3rd-and-8, Bills go screen, get 6 yards.

070

A great time to stop and acknowledge that 4th-and-3 was a great time and place to go for it, as the #Patriots did. Odds are favorable you convert. You need points vs. Josh Allen. Good process, great results.

1120

Josh McDaneils had a terrific call on that TD pass, catching Buffalo in a double-robber coverage. Pump-fake screen brings safeties down, then Maye hits a post to Doubs behind them for a TD.
