There's a B2B lesson in here somewhere

Andrew Askins @andrewaskins.com · 11/12/2025

We've made some big improvements to the MetaMonster crawling and onboarding experiences over the last month! You no longer have to wait for a crawl to finish to start queuing up your first workflows. This makes the overall experience of getting started with a new project WAY faster. Next up:

Something we've found helpful when testing prompts for MetaMonster: have the LLM output it's "rationale."

Pretty cool: - I crawled our site - Told the AI to analyze my page titles and generate an engagement score from 1-10 - Filter to < 5 - Generated optimized titles - Had the AI score the optimized version and provide a justification

Rolled out handy little feature in MetaMonster this week to let you export all of your page content as markdown.

LOVE this newsletter CTA from balsamiq

One small piece of feedback about your CTA I had a split second where I was like "is this the same thing I'm signing up for?" Wonder if it would be clearer if it said "Get your 123 free ideas"

Just closed customer number 1 for MetaMonster 👀 It's a friend, but they fit our ICP AND they're using the heck out of the product and getting a lot of value from it. Lot more to do from here!!

To kick off a directed crawl you choose "crawl selected pages" from the sites page and then upload a CSV. Our monsters will try to identify the column with URLs, but you can also change it easily if you need to.

We just released directed crawls to alpha users! 📋 Now you can choose to crawl your entire site or crawl a list of pages you specify This is a great way to narrow suggestions only to the pages you care about, or break a large site into batches

We got path planning working on our robot today! Now the students can design an autonomous routine in the pathplanner UI by drawing lines on a field map. Super cool open source tool.

We currently have 4 SUPER low production value videos on our @metamonster.ai YouTube channel that up until today didn't even have direct links to our site and we're still seeing a small trickle of traffic from YouTube That's hella encouraging

Getting our first round of feedback for @metamonster.ai from some close friends before we bring on our first real alpha users Already catching some edge cases we missed, but also love getting messages like this

Today is the kickoff day for First Robotics! Today we'll find out the rules and mechanics of this year's game which marks the start of build season. We'll then spend the next 3 months working with the kids to design and build a robot that can outcompete 40+ schools

Here’s what I read last year! I really liked The Husbands and Sea of Tranquility. Realized I really like sappy time travel stories.

Looks like my fellow procrastinators don’t have to file this BOI thing, at least not yet Shout out @csallen.com

I also dressed as Louise for Halloween a couple of years ago. One of my favorite costumes ever. We’re a big Bob’s Burger household

My girlfriend and I met because of Bobs burgers (she mentioned it on her hinge profile) and she gave me this our first Christmas living together!

Got this message from a friend last week. This is EXACTLY why we're building MetaMonster. Spending 11 hours writing page titles and meta descriptions is nuts. There's so much more important work SEOs could be doing. Let the robots handle the boring stuff.

Gotta crawl before you can walk 🚶🏻 New crawl is working (before we were doing crawls via API). Getting closer and closer to having everything functional end-to-end!

Also @apricee.bsky.social is trying not to spend too much time optimizing the look and feel right now, but I do LOVE this little pink glow he added when you click into a field on the table I'm really enjoying using the pink as an accent color, especially paired with the minimal, high contrast vibes

A couple of snapshots of the real, actual, working @metamonster.ai app Almost to the point where we can start testing prompts and then things will get REALLY fun Dev is picking up quickly (all thanks to @apricee.bsky.social), hoping to have something people can actually test very soon

Conversion rates for the old copy/design were 7.6% for users coming from our Google ads and 2.4% across all referral sources Will be interesting to see if this impacts conversion rates at all over the next month

Hit reply and let me know who you are and what you're working on! I love to meet new people and cheer on fellow bootstrappers. And as promised, here's one my favorite pics of my two cats Po Boy and Stevie
