Sorry everyone, GQuuuuuuX gets better every time I re watch it. Actually stunned at how it works quite well. I think we need to reconsider how adversarial our relationship with legacy brands tend to be if they are to continue to exist.

Universal monster movies: Evil Creature: Ha! Ha! You shouldn't have fucked with me today!! Edward Van Sloan: Once I get my hands on you I'm gonna break your shins and then break your back over my knee. Star crossed lovers: "Darling, what can we do to break this horrible curse?" Dwight Frye: 💀

Finished my re watch of Blue Exorcist season 1 and started season 2. I know it's because of the direction season 1 took at the end, but I do stand by my opinion that the transition from season 1 to 2 of this series is harsher than anything in UC Gundam. It's just that insane.

Wow, that new Steel Ball Run outro is perhaps the worst, most ill-fitting choice possible. 20th century American music has no shortage of songs about horses, cowboys, or the west. It being produced by fucking Dr. Luke is certainly a choice too. It doesn't work tonally or otherwise. Bad.

I do wonder if "I didn't watch the video, but I think" posts are an obligation if you have a popular twitter account. Like, you're already addicted to the platform and need your dopamine spike so you dress up your thoughts on something you didn't watch for a not quite slam dunk that trends well?

My friend who is always dead on with her Gundam observations has arrived at GQuuuuuuX, and her reaction to the start of the second half is kind of reinforcing my initial response that the show will age much better with time. The biggest sticking point one year on is the episode count.

The funniest part about loving the Hitman Reborn openings despite barely engaging with the show is having Funny Sunny Day be one of my favorite songs as a 16 year old, but being restricted to the bit crushed, flipped, smooshed into the corner version available on 2015 YouTube.

Rewatching a lot of Dragon Ball movies and it's stupendous how Super Hero is better than every other entry in the Super series as a whole from a script perspective. A perfect modern Dragon Ball entry that understands the tone of what this series is. Insane how much better it is than most of them!

Perhaps this is the most unserious blusky post of all time, but I'm making a video script broadly about long running franchises, and every time I have to interrogate why fans of a thing hate change I fail to articulate the kind of reaction, and every time I get better I hate it more lmao.

Haunted Peak might be *the* series I enjoy reading the most from Jump Plus right now. What can I say, I enjoy revealing that every character is basically socially compromised the more we drill in on each individual scenario. In a way it remind me of why Evangelion is so compelling. Good stuff.

Occasionally on and off writing a script about how modern weekly shonen trends in adaptation mirror that of the 80s and 90s and am caught between calling it something dumb but true like "The Myth of the Generic Shonen." Writing videos is hard lmao.

Posted about this once but one reason I'm try not to read too much weekly manga discourse is because most don't understand how an editorial department factors into narrative decisions when you publish something. Decisions aren't made in a bubble w/ regards to abandoned plots or characters.

Bleach TYBW episode 45 is an episode of the year contender in my books! It sounds kind of stupid to say but it's very exciting to have the additions to this story make it feel more like a definitive cap to things after all this time.

I decided to not watch the new Princess Knight adjacent movie and not read the new Kohei Horikoshi one-shot until my storyboard was done and it ended up being quite the effective motivator lol.

Finally done with Deltarune Chapter 5. That's such a fun game. Flower Man's such a great track. It's kind of incredible how each chapter is so well composed that the not insignificant periods between instalments melts away in the moment. Each one has such a well earned climax, it's great.

I think Gundam AGE is *the* suitable comparison here. The AGE tie in game was a PSP game. Which is comparatively lower stakes development-wise than whatever the new project's timeline is. What will be the pros and cons of a multimedia franchise attempt in 2026 vs 2012? Make the appeal **BROADER** ‼️

Gundam Zero's Nintendo direct announcement was odd. Gundam as a franchise appeals to me personally because it's filled with ideas that appeal to me after I let them settle, especially when I find them *very* alienating to my personal sensibilities (context: im currently watching SEED Destiny)

Final Fantasy Versus 13 Gundam. I wonder where the idea behind tying it into the game is? Am I actually going to have to play it to get an idea of what's going on? Because I don't know if I'll want to do that.

I'd love to sit down and analyze a post K-ON overreaction to moe shows in western anime fandom with regards to art style/presentation that I vaguely remember from 2012 or so. I'd call it "The Myth of the Disappearing Anime Noses" or something.

I've never travelled for work before, and although this trip has gone great, I am drained. I have to return to my night job (that's not freelance) when I return to the states ,and that's already tiring me out haha. But all the preparation was worth it, and I'm very excited about my prospects.

Every time I see one of those engagement bait " AGE 23-30 DESTORYS YOU‼️‼️‼️" posts on the hell site I remember how my early to mid 20s have brought me so many incredible moments of joy. I know they're all engagement bots so it doesn't really matter, but I hate fearmongering age so much.

I know there's a new Princess Knight inspired project out soon- which is exciting. I don't think it actually has much to do with the source, it's just *inspired* my the original Tezuka stuff. Which, is funny. It reminds me of that old scuffed "From the producers who saw Shrek" mockbuster poster.

Revisiting the original English dub for the Gundam 0079 movies, and I *think* it's better than I remember. This dub, for reference, was my introduction to Gundam 0079, and I'm aware of the silly interpretations of the characters here and there. But it's all *there* really, despite the performances.
