My understanding is that you can't publish both a Switch 2 Game-Key Card AND a normal Switch 2 game card in the same region But that rule does not apply to code in box 👍

Yeah I'm not too sure but it's interesting that it doesn't have any buttons but does have the joysticks. We'll probably never know, though :(

Not sure. These were the only two photos I saw. Would love to find out more!

Reggie Fils-Aimé talked about it in his book Disrupting the Game, which I had just finished reading haha Basically when Nintendo makes price go -> do something to make consumers happy

Star Wars Outlaws remains my favorite Star Wars game ever and one of the best looking titles on Switch 2. I'm back playing it again and wondering why I ever stopped! (I stopped after ~25 hours because it... did get a little repetitive. BUT I'M BACK, BABY!)

That's ok. It's fun, and definitely gorgeous, but falls flat in some gameplay aspects

You think Orbitals will go cross-platform? AFAIK Nintendo helped publish or published it?

110

andrew wolf @andrewalerts.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Fair! And not all that surprising I think haha

You hold off on the Switch 2 for now?

110

andrew wolf @andrewalerts.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Early adopters and hardcore fans have flocked to the Switch 2, but I'm very curious to see what Nintendo has cooking for 2027 to keep the momentum going and pull in Switch 1 owners

My understanding is that these smaller capacity cards are not actually much cheaper

010

andrew wolf @andrewalerts.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

I've seen lots of excitement this week about the smaller 32 GB game card for Switch 2 and how it should help more games get released on card because "smaller size = cheaper" Unfortunately, I don't think these smaller capacity cards are cheap enough to make much of a difference

To be clear: this was submitted to FCC for testing prior to the announcement of the Switch 2. This is not a new Pro Controller design.

I own a healthy mix of digital and physical games. One thing I've found delight in, especially over the last few years, is the simple ritual of playing a physical game: Finding something on my shelf to play Opening the case and removing the game Putting the game in my console It's delightful!

I think a heads up really only helps or matters if there is actually stock available to purchase. The Steam Deck was sold out, so a heads up wouldn't have benefited anyone I don't think.

010

andrew wolf @andrewalerts.bsky.social · 28/05/2026

Steam Support rules. Feels like they'll always go the extra mile and bend over backwards to help resolve an issue. Reminds me a lot of Ye Olde Amazon and modern day Chewy. Good stuff. (My Steam Controller might be having some down d-pad missed inputs and they're helping troubleshoot)

You're acting like I have personally stolen money from you. Why? All I said is it was a smart business decision for them to make.

030

andrew wolf @andrewalerts.bsky.social · 27/05/2026

In hindsight, Nintendo opting to release the Switch 2 with just 256 GB of UFS 3.1 was probably a smart move. Means they're able to keep the price of the console lower than other handhelds with higher storage capacity base models (Steam Deck OLED, etc).
