Falling in line with much of what I like to write and share is explored beautifully in a piece by @strange.website. Forging the internet into a better place, with federation, accessibility, and interoperability. Stuff like this inspires me to build more and stop using compartmentalized platforms.

Screenshot of a webpage from Henry Desroches at henry.codes, a writing piece titled "A website to destroy all websites." The sub-line for the articles reads, "How to win the war for the soul of the internet and build the Web We Want." The image in the centre is a print titled "Captive Pegasus" by Odilon Redon (1889). At the bottom of the page, it notes the article length is "~3100 words; about a 15 minute read." The background is a light beige colour with a clean, serif font style.

Jeff Merrick's newest build, the PS-85, is a DIYed slate-style cyberDeck inspired by the Alien movie universe. Jeff's other Typeframe boards are equally as astonishing, and the branding/icon work is top tier. Wish I was more engineering-inclined so I could build my own one day.

Photo of the PS-85 keyboard/computer combo—a retro-futuristic handheld device with a small terminal screen. The device has a rugged, worn appearance with a grey casing and an integrated handle on the right side. The keyboard is a 40% layout with Signature Plastics G20 Semiotic keycap set—with various unique icons, such as arrows, a floppy disk, a medical cross, and other symbols. The device rests on a black grid-patterned surface, and the overall lighting has a warm, reddish tone.

Utilities like an image converter, background remover, favicon generator, and contrast checker were monumental for my redesign—Delphi Tools by @delphi.rmv.fyi provided them all and more! Free, no accounts, no hassle, and all handmade. Palette generator was by far my favourite to explore and use.

Last week my partner (@themoondontshine.bsky.social) and I explored bringing the clicks 'n clacks brand into real life—the process of creating these was a new experience for the both of us. Hope to design more like this soon!

These artisans from jellykey.com are my new favourite handmade discovery—loved the Retro TV series, I unfortunately missed out on the last GB, but I am patiently waiting for whatever comes next!

Close-up photo of three artisan mechanical keyboard keycaps placed on a beige keyboard with Japanese hiragana characters. The keycaps are transparent resin cubes with details inside. The left keycap shows a retro computer screen displaying the word "hello" in cursive, middle keycap has a blue/black pattern, and the right keycap features a green screen with a yellow smiley face.

I was in Cybersecurity before moving to product and believe it’s essential for everyone to learn! I miss it, and Hacktivate by @twostraws.bsky.social fills that void. It offers 200+ challenges to learn about encryption, injection attacks, digital forensics & more—all with a real hacker’s toolkit!

A digital app interface titled "Hacktivate" displays a world map with the United States highlighted in blue and other countries in red. A white line connects the U.S. to a green information panel on the right, labeled "Shadow Eagles," describing a group involved in military and corporate espionage. The panel lists five challenge categories with star ratings: Pretty QR patterns (Cybersecurity, 2 stars, Tame), Ghost extraction (Images, 3 stars, Tame, highlighted), Radio silence (Audio, 2 stars, Tame), Truth table (Logic, 4 stars, Tricky), and Assembly Line (Coding, 3 stars, Tricky). A green "Start Challenge" button is at the bottom right. The top right corner shows "Points: 0" and "Beginner" rank.

Didn't get a chance last week to highlight one of my favourite features from issue 45—Click Browser by @jackbogdan.com Keeps getting better with each update—simple, no frills, Arc-inspired browser, crazy fast on Mac Silicon, and I love Jacks personal aesthetic that he's bringing to this project.

My favourite cap set from this past week was GMK GORP by Evan aka extrapriusplease. I've been waiting patiently for this one, and now pre-orders for it are live! Inspired by "gorpcore" clothing and Arc’teryx, this beige and pastel set is a sight to behold!

Three close-up photos on a pastel green background of a mechanical keyboard with custom keycaps by extrapriusplease. The left image shows the bottom left corner of the keyboard with beige and light green modifiers including unique novelty keycaps with icons. The center image displays the keyboard suspended and entangled in red ropes against a green gradient background. The right image captures the bottom right corner featuring keys with light green and blue colors, including a novelty keycap with a knot illustration. Each photo has a signature below and text indicating preorder and lookbook details.

New app and community on the rise!! Keebuilder recently released their iOS app (Google Play coming soon)—I've been using it to browse keyboard builds, search vendors, and stay on top of upcoming Interest Checks! Great design, already active, growing quick, and can't wait to see what comes next!

Four smartphone screens displaying a dark-themed keyboard enthusiast app interface. The first screen shows a "Keebs Gallery" with various mechanical keyboard builds from the community. The second screen presents a "New Build – Core" form to name and input kit details for a keyboard build. The third screen displays "Reviews" of trusted vendors with star ratings and review buttons. The fourth screen is titled "My Keebs," showing a personal collection with options to add new builds and view details. Captions below each screen read: "Browse community builds," "Share your builds," "Find trusted vendors," and "Your personal hub."

A new addition to my morning routine is using the new Yume Journal app—made by @dennush.bsky.social and @lorantcsonka.bsky.social—to jot down my sleepy dreams and ramblings. It’s loaded with sleek animations, a beautiful dark interface and is so simple to love and use!

iPhone mockups featuring screenshots of the Yume Journal app on a dark grey background. Three smartphones with dark-mode screens are displayed side by side against a dark background. The center phone shows a digital book cover titled "Dreams written by Dennis" with the text "Here, your dreams come to life" above it and the date "Monday, 22 November" at the top. The left phone shows a partially visible page with text, and the right phone displays a starry galaxy image with the year "2024" at the top. The time 09:41 and signal/wifi/battery icons appear on all screens.

During my switchover from Spotify to Apple Music, one of the most useful (and most stunning) apps I discovered was Denim—a playlist cover creation tool. Made by @ashwinsrihari.bsky.social, Demin transformed my dull default Apple covers into eye-catching, themed artwork!

A smartphone screen showcasing the Demin Playlist Cover Maker app. It displays a "Gallery" page with summer-themed playlist covers. The section "Summer’s In! ☀️" shows vibrant covers including a pink flamingo pool float titled "Pool Party" and a colorful abstract titled "Heat Wave." Below, the "Seas the Day! 🌴" section features covers like a red-and-white beach umbrella titled "Beach Songs" and a bright yellow background with watermelon slices labeled "Summer BBQ." The bottom navigation bar highlights the "Gallery" tab, next to a "My Covers" tab. The design is clean with white background and black text.

I had a lot of fun this week rediscovering Clockology and designing some of my own watch faces. Here are a few modelled after the watches seen in the new Fantastic Four movie—since I missed the FF X Fossil drop a few weeks ago 😢

A close-up image of a person's wrist wearing a modern smartwatch with a rectangular face and a black strap. The watch face design features a unique retro-inspired graphic resembling an old radio dial with a needle indicator and three round knobs at the bottom. The background is softly blurred, highlighting the watch and wrist in sharp focus.

I’ve mentioned before in my ramblings that I never had a good solution for saving/bookmarking videos but I’ve found the missing piece! Play by @mactanaka.bsky.social is helping me watch-it-later, follow creators, search, tag, and filter any video I stumble upon! Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Multiple Apple devices, including an iPad and three iPhones, display different screens for the app “Play” against a purple background. The iPad shows a paused video titled "Severance – Inside the Grand Central Terminal Pop-Up | Apple TV+." The iPhones display settings menus, a channels inbox with video thumbnails and titles, and a tag editing interface with a colourful palette for tag customization.

One of my fave features in clicks ‘n clacks this week is the MW Dim Sum keycap set by nessasaurus!! It’s her first set, dedicated to the delicious traditional Cantonese meal—it’s got cute artisan collabs and matching mouse/desk pads. Definitely going to be picking this up for a future project.

@discord.com's April Fools joke (real game) accurately depicts my brain when I am attempting to organize all my thoughts and ideas for the newsletter (it's chaos)

The image shows a computer screen with "The Last Meadow," a green-themed cookie clicker game by Discord for April Fools 2025. The main objective is to "touch grass" by tapping the screen. Discord symbols fly around the screen, "touch grass" is outlined it a rainbow comic-sans font, rain flies across the screen
