I keep saying, Worm Blossom blog is the best blog for a technical project out in our #decentralized web tech scene, omg what a joy it is to read their stuff. I am even considering learning #rust just to join the fun. worm-blossom.org/#y2026w40 #willowprotocol #wormblossom #dweb

Some very strange results with these two film rolls. think my camera might need servicing. #analogphotos taken in #Edinburgh, they are not edited, instead they were taken using color shifted film. 📷 #PentaxAuto110 🎞️ #LomochromePurple 🎞️ #LomochromeTurquoise #filmphotography #filmisnotdead

Color shifted photo of Dalry road in Edinburgh showing road with colony houses flanking ir. Color shifted blues towards pink but very subtle.

Today I implemented posting threads for both #mastodon and #bluesky on BlogCat: blogcat.org I still need to do some bugfixing and documentation before I release this, but I think it is a good feature.

I been enjoying #soapmaking for a couple years now. I love listening to audiobooks while letting myself go a bit automatic making cute soaps and massage bars. Here are some of favourites I made. (Also attempting to images with alt text from #BlogCat for the first time, let's hope it works)

Implemented linkgraphs in BlogCat, totally stole the feature from Artemis. It looks super cool. The screenshots linked here are from Artemis and from BlogCat showing the same feature. I wrote a bit about it in andregarzia.com/2025/09/link... #blogging #blog

My first film roll with my new #OlympusPen EES-2 camera. Used #Lomography Lomochrome Metropolis film stock, it does a bit of colour shifting that gives gritty vibes. Liked these photos but don't think I'll go for that stock again, prefer vibrant and pastels. #filmisnotdead #filmphotography

A photo from union canal in Edinburgh on a cloudy day, three ducks in the distance. Very cold and gritty feel from the film stock used.

A photo from inside a tunnel in Edinburgh. Square shaped passage with graffiti on the walls. Very cold and gritty feel from the film stock used.

A photo showing my front door and some steps towards it. A cat is walking towards the camera, that's not my cat. Very cold and gritty feel from the film stock used.

A photo from the meadows showing the cherry blossoms. Very cold and gritty feel from the film stock used.

Really happy with the built-in #podcast viewer I built for my #feedreader, BlogCat. Today I added season and episode navigation similar to TV apps and a toggle to autoplay the next episode. blogcat.org

Here are some photos I took with my #Pentax Auto 110 which uses 110 film cartridges. For these photos I used a turquoise tinted film by #lomography I haven’t edited this photos at all, this is how they come out from the camera. I’m loving the results.

Today I implemented a very nifty feature. A way to match subscriptions between BlogCat and other apps Given an OPML from your other app. BlogCat will allow you to subscribe to the missing sites. It also generate an OPML for the other app to match its own subscription list. #blogging #feedreader

BlogCat also got a #podcast viewer today. If the feed reader detects that a feed you subscribed is a podcast, it will open it on the built-in podcast viewer. More info at blogcat.org #feedreader #blogging

Added some really cool features to #blogcat today. You can customise how the app opens YouTube links. It can open them in YouTube, or a simpler page without comments or even a custom front-end of your own choice. blogcat.org#/youtube #blogging #feedreader #youtube

BlogCat supports custom YouTube front-ends. Screenshot of the preferences showing the available options.

BlogCat's own YouTube viewer is minimalist. Screenshot showing the viewer with just a video in it and nothing else.

When something important happen and you want to share it with people who follow you on different platforms, crossposting makes the experience much more pleasant. #BlogCat is first and foremost a feed reader, but I been using its posting features more and more. blogcat.org

The reader is heavily inspired by Rad Reader and provides a quick glance into a list of posts. It shows a configurable amount of posts per blog, the default number is three posts per blog. Clicking on a post will open it in a new tab.

Andre Should Be Writing @andreshouldwrite.bsky.social · 13/02/2025

If you have an OPML handy, you can see all the blogs there and subscribe to them in bulk.

Andre Should Be Writing @andreshouldwrite.bsky.social · 13/02/2025

When you select to subscribe to a feed. It opens a form allowing you to fill in some information about the feed. Like FraidyCat The options for update frequency are realtime, daily, weekly, and monthly. BlogCat doesn't fetch in the background, it only fetches when you open the reader.

Surfacing feeds and blogrolls. BlogCat will inspect the page you reading looking for RSS and Atom feeds and OPML outlines as well. If it finds some, it will display a page action for you to click. Clicking it opens a popup that allows you to take actions related to the feeds and blogroll.

Make new chonky Laptops in fun shapes, colours and with a handle. If you keep that thiccness, you can fit infinite battery power inside it. Bring it back. You might have a bunch of M1 chips on a bin there, just threw them inside that body and it will sell like hot cakes. Look at how cute they were.
