Starting Feb. 8 the NOPD will implement new policies regarding immigrants. Officers will only be allowed to inquire about somone's immigration status if their investigation depends on it. Also, a supervisor has to be called in if an officer sees ICE operations in New Orleans.

ICE says agents arrested 46-year-old Larry Temah from Cameroon on January 28 in New Orleans. ICE says Temah was a New Orleans Police recruit who was issued a gun by the department despite issues with his immigration status. NOPD says Temah had all the correct paperwork to be hired as an officer.

Almost two months since the start of Operation Catahoula Crunch, Governor Jeff Landry says immigration agents made 665 arrests in Louisiana. 293 arrestees allegedly have criminal histories but officials did not specify those alleged crimes or the arrestees’ immigration statuses.

Argentinian choreographer Germán Cornejo had to cancel his upcoming Tango After Dark show at the Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans due to ongoing visa processing delays beyond the company’s control. Organizers did not say what the delays were and whether the performance will be rescheduled.

13 ICE arrests were made at the Meta center site in north Louisiana this morning (Jan. 18). The arrests were made after traffic stops by the Richland Parish Sherriff’s Office. The sheriff says the 13 arrestees had no Lawful residence in the U.S. and none of them had a Louisiana drivers license.

The Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office says two dump truck drivers were arrested by ICE in a traffic stop on their way to the Meta data center in north Louisiana. Officials did not say why they were arrested. The drivers were from Honduras and Guatemala.

The Department of Homeland Security confirms that 560 people have been arrested in the five weeks of Operation Catahoula Crunch in Louisiana. Officials did not say whether Catahoula Crunch will be ending soon with immigration agents in Louisiana now headed to Minnesota.

The New York Times reports federal immigration agents in New Orleans for Operation Catahoula Crunch will leave Louisiana to help with immigration campaigns in Minnesotta. Agents are expected to return back to New Orleans for Sunday after weekend duties up north.

Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino is back in Louisiana to continue Operation Catahoula Crunch. He and masked agents have been seen throughout Kenner today. In more than a month, Catahoula Crunch has netted 370 immigrant arrests.

Former detention officer David Courvelle pleaded guilty for sexual abuse toward a Nicaraguan detainee in the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center in Basile. Court documents say Courvelle had sexual contact with the detainee multiple times while she was under his custodial & supervisory authority.

Vilma Palacios was deported back to Honduras Sunday morning despite disputing her removal order. The LSU nursing grad was arrested by ICE 6 months ago in Louisiana. Agents said there were issues with her asylum case, which was filed 14 years ago when her family fled Honduras due to gang violence.

Border Patrol reports that this Honduran woman was arrested by immigration agents after accidentally running a red light in Slidell and crashing into a vehicle used by Operation Catahoula Crunch. The Border Patrol did not release her identity but indicated that she is an "illegal immigrant."

Border Patrol tells FOX8 that a full list of people who have been arrested in Operation Catahoula Crunch is not expected to be made public. The operation has been active more nearly a month with only 35 arrestees identified by Homeland Security out of 370 arrests.

Homeland Security says approximately 370 people have been arrested in Operation Catahoula Crunch to date. They have only identified 35 of the arrestees, of which are either convicted criminals or alleged criminals. Other arrestees include people with work permits or pending immigration cases.

New data shows Jefferson Parish Schools are seeing significant absenteeism rates in the week since Operation Catahoula Crunch started. One of the biggest drops in attendance is Terrytown Elementary which saw attendance rates drop to 59%.

Hundreds of people are at the Burlington parking lot in Kenner protesting against Operation Catahoula Crunch and recent patrols from Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino. Border Patrol has not released a complete list of people that have been arrested during the operation.

With Operation Catahoula Crunch in effect federal immigration agents are making multiple arrests across the New Orleans metro area. This is video from an arrest at Home Depot in LaPlace. The operation is supposed to only target criminal immigrants. No word on the identities of any arrestees.

The Department of Homeland Security finally confirms that the massive immigration enforcement operation has started in Louisiana. The operation is called “Catahoula Crunch” and is aimed at arresting criminal immigrants in and around New Orleans who have been previously released from jail.

Governor Jeff Landry says President Donald Trump will approve a Louisiana National Guard deployment in New Orleans. The deployment will start in about two weeks before Christmas and troops will stay in New Orleans through Mardi Gras.

Gretna Police says five people were taken into ICE custody on Wednesday. Gretna Police say the operation happened at Home Depot when one person managed to run from ICE and was eventually arrested in Floor and Decor. ICE has not released anyone's identities or reasons for why they were arrested.

Associated Press reports that Border Patrol officials will be in town through the weekend ahead of Operation Swamp Sweep. They are setting up a command site at the FBI Field Office and using the Naval Air Station for storage of vehicles, equipment, tear gas and pepper balls.

Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries worked with federal immigration agents to arrest 10 oyster harvesters for immigration violations. Officials did not release any identities or what the violations were. The arrested were made on November 3 in both Terrebonne and St. Bernard Parishes.

ICE New Orleans arrested 25 undocumented Honduran workers for Barrois Welding Services, at a shipyard in Harvey, Louisiana. ICE said some of the workers had a criminal past - mainly for non-violent offenses. Officials have not released the workers’ identities.
