After seeing some of Zverev’s match against Paul and Djokovic, I really don’t see how he can walk out with the trophy. He’s playing an uninspiring, passive, boring brand of tennis and has relied solely on timely good serves and chokes from his opponents to win. A level-headed Sinner takes this easy.

Ruud maintain his great record at the ATP Finals, claiming his 3rd win over Rublev (all his 3 wins coming at this event) and reaching semifinals or better at all the editions he’s qualified for. Plays Sinner next, whom he’s never even taken a set off. 0-2, both meetings on indoor hard in Vienna.

I’m surprised, almost shocked really, to look at Rublev Ruud H2H and realize that, not only Ruud’s only 2 wins against Rublev were at the ATP Finals, but also that all of Rublev’s four wins in completed matches came on slow clay courts. Definitely thought I’d see the exact opposite.

I don’t particularly think losing in the ATP Finals will be a blow to Alcaraz’s confidence long term, as not only he was sick, but even healthy, Zverev would always be a tough one in these conditions. But I worry Alcaraz might yet struggle to do anything in Australia. Davis Cup could be important.
