Finished Wolverine (really liked it!), played 8 hours of Minecraft Dungeons with the 5 year old (she’s in), started Gears of Way E-Day with the wife (rocks), and made some continuing progress on Star Wars Zero Company trying to wrap ahead of Galactic Racer this week. I think…games are very good?!

When it all becomes too much, helping others in your life or community, in ways big or small can make it not so overwhelming. Opening a door, carrying groceries, making a donation, or as Ana says in Frozen 2, “Just do the next right thing.” 🫶🏻

I’ve been absent from social media because the world has been an overwhelming place. Don’t take my silence as commentary, but instead as compartmentalizing to maintain levels of anxiety. But more importantly to continue parenting my daughter when I have no good answers to the mountain of “WHY??”

Wake up. Make breakfast. Do email. Watch a murder. Go to a party for a 5 year old. Laugh with my daughter. See a different angle of that murder. Hear govt officials slander the victim. Play Barbies with my kid. Feed her dinner. Tear up at that victim reading last honors to a vet. Put kid to bed. USA

I use Wix! They have a really easy to use editor, tons of templates or ability to do custom, and a blog feature. I’ve also extensively used WP but it gets exhausting managing updates and plugins, especially since my website isn’t for e-commerce. (You can build on Shopify too.)

It’s column A and B, but Premiere and OBS (2 of my heaviest intensive apps) are optimized for NVIDIA vs AMD when it comes to GPU processing. And oh yes I was planning on asking you!! 🤓

Andrea Rene @andrearene.bsky.social · 19/09/2025

Thanks! I’ve used PC parts picker before and tend to get back far more options than I know what to do with. I did forget to think about the power supply though, and my case size.

Andrea Rene @andrearene.bsky.social · 19/09/2025

Of all the people who could throw GPU stats at me without hesitation this was not the answer I expected from you! Learning a new software is only a temporary solution to aging hardware, but I appreciate the creative (and cheap) idea 😉

Andrea Rene @andrearene.bsky.social · 19/09/2025

MOBO (MSI) can handle 128gb RAM, and I prefer to go NVIDIA for GPU specifically for Adobe compatibility but also can’t/don’t want to spend like $1000+…is there hope for me? 🙏🏻

Andrea Rene @andrearene.bsky.social · 19/09/2025

Alright nerdy PC video editor friendos, I need some help. Premiere is frequently locking up on me making it hard to work. I think it’s time for a GPU and RAM upgrade. I’ve got a Ryzen 9 3900X CPU, but which GPU should I get and how much RAM? I’m deep diving into PC subreddits and recs are all over.

We never called it sushi but I still eat pickles wrapped in ham fairly often! I usually just roll the whole pickle in a slice of deli meat and eat without slicing. It’s a great no carb snack, if you don’t mind sodium.

Oh yes hot dish is the way 🙌🏻 My family’s is tater tot hot dish or “goulash” which is basically macaroni with meat sauce. It’s not fancy, but it’s good old fashioned comfort food. I love how American cuisine is so different depending what state you’re from. What is yours?

That’s definitely more comprehensive than what I was looking at but interesting to hear you think it will only last a few years. All the WDs I have are all still going strong and a handful of external ones are almost a decade old. You got a transcoding side hustle??
