As I have elaborated last week, Valve marked the game as an Adult Only title. I'm working to appeal the classification and understand what triggered it. So, for the time being, the demo will not be available in Germany and China, and will be restricted in UK and Australia.

Another 3D fighter demo that might need archival. Axis of Power v1.1. Strange magic system and bad tracking for most moves, but it has its charm. Not sure about archiving this because, while the demo was scrubbed from existence, the Discord server and itch page of the game seem to still be online.

While looking for a couple of canceled game demos to archive (thanks @theburpman.bsky.social btw), I stumbled upon an alpha sitting on my drive since 2018? It was a Brazilian 3D fighting game called Bloody Justice, the devs sent me an alpha build but I can't find any info on the project anymore...

I am as confused as you. Maybe some cutscenes triggered some of their guardrails/guidelines. I honestly don't know. I guess I'll wait for some clarifications, if they want to provide them. If not, I will let the game be marked as R18 and move on with my life.

For the record, I don't deny the designs are suggestive - because *they clearly are*. You can see them in the Steam page (if you can access it) and in the picture down here. But aside from that, the base game didn't have any sexual content, so I'm a little confused by what happened.

Mors Blade has some secondary characters with full lip-flapping sprites, aside from the three protagonists (and Boss). Even if they are less involved in the events and don't have a lot of screen time, working on their (rather plain) designs was quite interesting too.

I think I'll start using "Branch Metastasis" from now on for this phenomenon. "Branchitis" sounds good too, though. I wish I thought about that sooner.

You start writing your story and hit the first hopeless fight against the designated rival of your protagonist. Now, you think “wouldn’t be cool if winning against the rival triggered a new secret branch?”

Yes. That’s cool. That’s mondo cool. So, you start developing that too. Until you reach a pivotal moment in the secret branch, one that spells doom for a character. “But what if,” you say, “what if I added a way to save them and add a secret branch there too?”

Yes, it’s incredibly cool. So cool you start now developing that branch too. “But wait, what if…”

At this point you get me. Well, congratulations: this is the first step towards branch metastasis and certain doom. Spreading yourself thin on seven thousand possible permutations works only if you’re called Kodaka and Uchikoshi (hi, Hundred Line). The hard truth is that time is limited, money is limited and your energy is limited too.
