iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

... I love you too. [ Espen is kind. Far too kind. She doesn't deserve to have to mourn her. It's a shame Sybyll is so selfish. She shifts, resting her upper body in Espen's lap instead. ] You look... better, on a full stomach. I'm glad you're eating.

... The best thing to ever happen to me was waking up with you the morning after. [ After all, she'd met a lot of people. Sybyll even liked some of them. But Espen stayed... even when it would be smarter not to. ] I swear... as long as I live, Espen, I will never leave you.

100

... I suppose so. You partake?

100

[ Sybyll fills the space immediately. It's hers, after all. She belonged here between Espen's arms. ] This and more. Relationships are equally important to us. Finding your soulmate is... [ A beat of silence. A kiss, to Espen's cheek. ] I'm very lucky.

100

... Very little, actually. [ Sybyll is clearly new to this, but she copies Espen's movements... and only coughs a little bit. ] There's, kuh... the idea that for fate to have permitted any morally wrong act, it must be necessary for it to happen.

I suppose I could sin for tonight.

I haven't been able to get Espen to stop growing weed.

... Then you will lift me. Right now. [ It's less of an order and more of a factual statement. She even presses a kiss to her dear's jaw, as incentive. ] I like being close to you.

000

Yours carry me so wonderfully. I have them to thank for many a step not taken on this voyage. [ She intertwines their fingers. ]

100

[ Very obvious frown. ] You wouldn't have said a statue isn't pretty just because it isn't soft. Your hands are perfect too.

100

They're just hands. Like yours.

100

I have human hands and feet, dear.

100

( So she has a thing for religious girls too??? )

I... am sorry. I know there is nothing I can do to fill the hole they have left behind. [ Rubbing her back, now. She's quiet. ]

100

[ ... She knows that expression, that tone. It didn't take Espen's sense of smell to know what she was thinking before the words leave her mouth. Sybyll's arms wrap around her, bringing her close without a word. It would do her well. ]

100

Please don't reinforce your own night terrors. It doesn't make them go away.

[ Her thumb slowly circles the back of Espen's palm. There's some slight concern on her face. ] It's your day just as much as it is mine. It will be the beginning of the rest of our lives. ... I will let you pick out our dresses, if you'd like. I want it to be special for you, too.

100

I... [ Espen had a way of bringing out honesty in her. ] I worry that you may feel alone, or... surrounded. And that is the last thing that I want you to feel on our special day. [ Her turn. Even if Espen didn't ask, she's getting a quick peck to the lips. ]

100

[ There it is, the heat radiating off her face. Espen always had this effect on her. ] I can't wait to be married. It'll be an honor to call you my wife. ... Kiss me, Espen.

100

... Okay. Espen, will you say you love me?

100

... I like hearing you say it.

100

... A nightmare, then. I can light some incense in your room before you sleep to relieve it.
